For my #wednesdaywalk initiated by , we stopped and had a little walk around the outskirts of Sheffield as we travelled back from the canal.
Sheffield is known as the 'Steel City' because of it's steel production of knives and scissors etc.
We bumped into a man feeding the pigeons with a lot of bread cobs. I asked him if he worked at a bakery as he had a van full of bread.
He said he'd got a shop so he feeds the birds with all the bread that's out of date.
It wasn't long before the pigeons came flying in to fill their bellies.
Within minutes all the bread had been devoured by the hungry birds and then the man left.
Ghandi once said "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” I too think you can judge a person's character by the way they treat animals. Kind man.
