It was yet another misty morning as we took a walk to Stone Edge Quarry. I haven't been here since I was a child. We easily found the stone stile leading into the wood.
The wooded area looked like the home of wood nymphs and goblins, with the mist, moss and twisted trees and the orange-brown bracken that was sodden with rain.
It felt as though the trees would come alive and sweep you up with their tentacle like branches. Perhaps I've watched 'Cabin in the Woods', too many times.
If you look over the wall there's a few cock pheasants in the field. I must buy some new walking boots. Tramping through the wet bracken reminded me to get some new walking boots because my feet were wet through. My boots have got wet that many times, they're practically rotting on my feet.
I was expecting to see a lot more fungi with it being so wet.
Some of the trees have fallen down but they've kept on growing.
We did a circular walk and didn't see another soul.
