It is true that in Cuba the flat relief predominates, but there are three mountainous groups of capital importance and each one is located in a region of the country: The Guaniguanico Mountain Range in the Western Region; the Sierra Maestra in the Eastern Region and the Guamuhaya Massif which is located in the Central Region of the country.
Wednesday's trip was made in a tourist complex called Topes de Collantes, which has numerous cultural and recreational options for the enjoyment of the family. On the other hand, the natural environment, the clean air and the remoteness of the area from any industrial enclave make the place an area with special conditions for recreation.
Other elements that distinguish the place are its lush landscapes with a predominance of green color, its mountains that force you to practice physical exercises and numerous aquifers where you can practice all kinds of water sports. All of the above make the place a Natural Recreational Wonder.
In the place you have choices to spend some time, but my advice is to try to vary and do as much as you can. You can play bowling, billiards, chess, dominoes, checkers or other board games. If you prefer, you can watch TV, enjoy a good read or have a good massage to relax your body.
We were able to enjoy all these activities in this tour that began on Monday and will last until Friday.
When I speak in plural, it is because in this trip we were three friends who are really family and we love each other as such. Nothing is better than when you are like this.
The walk began with a nice cup of coffee and then we headed to the appointment we had with the billiard teacher. We enjoyed ourselves so much because none of the three of us could hit a ball and the balls were all over the table without us being able to make a hole.
After trying to play billiards and shooting some pins we headed to the massage parlor where we relaxed with the skills of this masseur. Of all the activities this was the most relaxing and one I will return to, when I visit this place again.
After relaxing for a while we went for a walk and went up to the viewpoint of the place, but not before climbing a staircase that took the air out of us, as they say in this part of the geography. At the viewpoint we were able to admire the beauty of the place and the height of the tourist area where we were.
The morning trip ended with a boat ride in one of the aquifers of the place, then we had lunch, rested and got ready for the afternoon adventure that had a long walk to a rustic center, in which we had to climb hills, cross bridges and do other activities indicated by the guides.
The tour culminated with a swim in the pool of the place where we stayed and at night the disco of the place awaits us, to continue living this adventure, in direct contact with nature.
