Hello friends of Wednesday Walk! I recently had the opportunity to attend the dance show of the Acontratiempo company at the Enguayabera Cultural Center in East Havana, Cuba, and I can say that it was a very pleasant and entertaining experience.

The show was part of the closing of the company’s course where the daughter of one of my best friends takes classes. It had a great variety of choreographies, from mambo and rumba to the oriental Cuban conga. In addition, at the end of the show, the participating boys and girls sang a very beautiful song that made everyone in the audience sing along, it is called: “Let the children sing”. The atmosphere was very lively, with many children screaming with excitement every time the clown of the show called them.
El espectáculo formaba parte del cierre de curso de la compañía donde recibe clases la hija de una de mis mejores amigas. Contó con una gran variedad de coreografías, desde mambo y rumba, hasta la conga oriental cubana. Además, los niños y niñas participantes también cantaron al final del espectáculo una canción muy hermosa que hizo que todos en el público también la corearan, se titula: “Que canten los niños”. El ambiente fue muy animado, con muchos niños gritando de emoción cada vez que el payaso del espectáculo lo pedía.
The dancing ability of a chubby girl caught my attention as she moved with great grace and ease. I also liked the costumes of the girls who danced, as they were colorful and eye-catching.
While some of the smaller girls couldn’t keep up with the older ones, the overall quality of the performances was good and the choreography was well organized.
Me llamó la atención la habilidad de una niña gordita para bailar, ya que se movía con mucha gracia y soltura. También me gustaron los trajes de las niñas que bailaron, pues eran coloridos y llamativos.
Si bien algunas de las niñas más pequeñas no podían seguir el ritmo de las más grandes, la calidad general de las actuaciones fue buena y la coreografía estuvo bien organizada.
