I'm on holiday in the province of Umbria Italy. It has been quite hot (way above the 20 degrees C) the last couple of days, so we've spent the most time near the pool and the lake.
But today started a bit cloudy, so we decided to pay a visit to the second largest city of Umbria; Brescia.
A nice one for the #wednesdaywalk
We parked our car near the edge of the city and walked into the old center.
The buildings are mostly in white, beige or yellow colours. Some streets have these nice arches where you can walk in the shade.
In the center is a large cathedral; Duomo Nuovo. An impressive building which is richly decorated from the outside. The old cathedral; the rotonda is right next to it. The distinctive green roof can be seen from far.
I like it that most of the churches are open to public. I like the serenity inside them.

Another thing that I find typically Italian are these balconies with flowers and plants and the wooden shutters.
This is the Teatro Grande (Grand theater) of Brescia. It didn't look that impressive from the outside (you get spoiled when you spend too much time in Italy ;) ), but the inside is really pretty.
I couldn't go in the theater itself, but the hallway already was very pretty.
There was an old window where they used to sell the tickets.
And the paintings on the ceiling are just amazing!
When we went back to the parking garage we saw a rhino hanging around. It must be a piece of art, but it was a funny sight. This one really made me smile #makemesmile
Anyhow; Brescia is a beautiful city and we enjoyed our walk there.
