Hello Wednesday Walker friends,
Welcome to my Wednesday walk. today I wil take you with me on a walk trough the picturesque fishing village of Lastres. We are in the northern part of Spain, along the Austrian coast. This village has a very unusual layout. You can easily get lost if you're not careful. Colorful houses cascade down a hill, leading to a charming harbor on the Cantabrian Sea. I read that this village was declared one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and was named a model village of Asturias in 2010.
From every street corner, you have a panoramic view of the village, the fishing harbor, and La Griega beach. Most of the village's history is about fishing, whaling was a major activity here in the 17th century.
Look at this view. Yes, I can see why this village is in the top 10 most beautiful villages. Now I want to visit all those ten villages. That sounds like a good challange.
As you can see, it's pretty steep here. it made it a pretty hard walk for the legs. But the view over the coast and the mountains in the distance is stunning.
The way down was realy beautiful. All those small streets nd little houses, its a beauty.
This is so cool. I could see myself playing chess here in the evening during a nice summer sunset.
This is historic Torre del Reloj. It was build in the 15th century as a watchtower and they transformed ity in the year 1757 in to a church.
If there is a patch of green, they made id a very sweet spot to hang out in.
When you ar low enough, you have a clear view of the harbor and the Asturian coast.
I walked all the way down to the breakwater of the harbor. I wanted to have a nice view over the village.
And ofcours every old historic village has got some protection.
