It is #wednesdaywalk again, yay!
Finally I had time to tidy up some photos from IKEA which we went last week because I took too many photos!!!! Hahahahah.
IKEA is a Swedish home design company which sells ready-to-assemble furnitures at affordable price. Whenever we visit Ikea showrooms, it makes us feels like our home can alsp adapt their brilliant and beautiful home designs. That is probably why I could not stop taking photos. 🤣
Anyway...
We were there to look for a spare part for a bed in our room. A part to strengthen the bed frame but we also do know since the bed was from more than a decade ago, it really doesn't have much hope. Still no harm trying, right?
In Malaysia, there are 3 branches for Ikea, one in Penang and 2 in Kuala Lumpur. The one I visited is their latest newest outlet which is linked to MyTown. It still looks new and well-kept.
At their entrance, there were play areas for children.
There were also some highlighted items at the entrance.
After we have entered, we were immediately greeted by showrooms after showrooms. All of them look so welcoming.
The first section is the living area.
The husband also said he wanted to scout for a good sofa with a high head rest to replace one of the sofa that has been too long with us and we can feel the spring within has broken.
Next up, it was the proposed design of a house that is small. This was really nice! I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE KITCHEN CABINETS DARK GREEN COLOUR.
Then, we came up to this.
Now this is the design I love the most. But I am not sure if we will ever adapt the colour for our house as dark colour may make the space look classy but also smaller.
This showroom uses the concept of a featured wall which is wall of a different colour contrast to make it stand out. I like it but too bad when it was proposed to my house last time, it was not accepted. So my eyes could enjoy this aesthetics here.
Finally, after so much walk, we arrived at the bed section but only to find out we need to for spare parts, we need to head over to the customer service department but anyhow we got to follow the path so we went to look at more things.
We arrived at the children's rooms and toys section. My hsuband and I know our boys will super love this section as they are soft toys lovers. However, we have too many of them at home so it is a relief that they did not tag along hahahha.
However, we saw two upsized "friends" of my boys. So I asked the husband to pose with them and took photo to show them.
There was also this section downstairs and the warehouse.
I often see my friends taking an almost mandatory photo at their warehouse aisle when there is no one so I made the husband took one for me too hahhaha.
Oh Yes, the Customer Service Department like finally FINALLY! However, to our dismay, our spare part is no longer in production. But it is kind of expected as what do we expect right? It was from more than 10 years ago, hello! The husband said he will think of something innovative then.
There was a sewing and alternation corner too for fabrics bought here. I remember we used to request for alternation for our curtains.
Last but not least, my husband will not miss the chance to check out their frozen food and biscuits section. They sell the food we ate at their restaurant earlier only in the form of ready-to-cook so we can replicate the food at home too, hopefully. Hahaha but I am sure they won't taste the same as theirs.
So, do you want to take a guess how long it took us to walk the whole Ikea store?
TWO HOURS PLUS!
It is okay. We don't always come to Ikea anyway and it was enjoyable actually. Though we may not purchase anything yet, it was still nice to imagine and visualize, to have a little dream, don't you think so? We bought something else - frozen Ikea signature meatballs and yes my husband is now excited to cook them!
Hope you enjoyed the walk with me!
