My wife and I just went for a lovely walk along the seafront. Its been a very nice day here, with the temp reaching 28 degrees C which is pretty high for Scotland !
Our logic was that if we went down to the seafront there would be a nice breeze blowing in off the north sea to keep us nice and cool - and I'm glad to say it worked !
The tide was quite far out this evening. The shore is quite gently sloped here, so when the tide retreats it goes way out. The problem is that if you dont watch the tide times correctly that it can catch you out because it comes back in quite fast !
There is quite a large pedestrian walkway down at the seafront here, and it was fairly busy tonight with lots of people out enjoying the sunshine.
Part way along the path I spotted a place where they have planted a lot of new tree saplings, making for a forest of protective pipes. You can see the shadows of the leaves of the sapling in the closet pipe on the right.
This sail rigging feature is up on display down where the causeway goes out to Crammond island.
We walked out along the first part of the causeway that takes you to the island.
Its probably close to a mile to get out to the island. I quite like going out there, but we had already walked quite a bit by the time we got to here, so we gave it a miss tonight.
Thats a view out to the island from another angle. Some of those flats are quite muddy when the tide goes out, and when we were walking along the front we spotted a woman with her family who had clearly been out there and fallen over in the mud. I have to say I was trying my hardest not to laugh when she passed us, because she was absolutely covered in it, and her face was like thunder !
Well, I'm glad we made it out for a nice evening walk after dinner - it was certainly a fantastic evening for it.
I hope you are having a great Wednesday in your part of the world !!!
