Last time, my professor in one of my minor subjects tasked us with an act of kindness campaign. It is 20% of our grade, so we don't have a choice. We distributed burgers for the youths of Calaocan, San Jose, and I didn't expect to experience a great moment to appreciate their nature. Without further ado, let's get started.
Before initiating this walk, I was not in the mood. I paid for my fare to the academy, not an exact amount, but the driver didn't give me a change. Who would be upset with that, right? Maybe I would if I couldn't create a scandal in front of the passengers where he didn't give me a chance. I was protecting my dignity and reputation, so I decided not to insist on my will. Anyway, I asked him about that change, and he reasoned that he already gave it even though I didn't receive anything.
Back to the topic, one of my classmates said they were in the Barangay Pag-Asa as that's the designated place where we'll be distributing the burger they bought in Frank's Burger. My cousin and I didn't know about it, so we used Google Maps to locate their exact location. We walked for about more than six minutes based on my photo details.
Good thing that the online map we used to track their location is accurate. It is a satisfying achievement that we found them in the Barangay Hall without asking much from the strangers. As you look at the photos we uploaded above, we saw a lot of establishments while walking through the meeting place. I'm thankful I brought my umbrella, or my skin will be been burned. We had a choice to ride using a three-wheeled vehicle, but we decided not to do it as we were planning to save money. If it is just within walking distance, then why not walk it?
Here are the photos I documented after we reached Barangay Pag-Asa. The environment is loud, and many cars are parked on every corner. I'm not familiar with this place, but I think we arrived in one of the municipalities of San Jose. When we came, I saw my classmates while I looked at a pack of hamburgers that would be distributed to the kids.
Unfortunately, my classmate said they couldn't do our project here due to the unexpected volume of kids in the environment. We only bought 68 pieces of burger for them, so it means that it will not be sufficient. That's why one of them suggested performing the campaign in Calaocan instead since they only have a smaller scope than the previous suggestion. Without hesitation, the girls joined in my classmate's tricycle while the three of us rented a tricycle to follow them.
I was completely strange at our destination as I said, I was unfamiliar with this place. And while we're going further, the view I've been watching outside gives me a captivating experience. This community is very far from the town as I only see farms and a few houses. The vibrant color of the sky enhanced the beauty of Calaocan, which impressed me.
Here is the only photo I took while distributing those burgers to the kids. We gave some of it to the elders, but our main priority is to provide joy to the kids, even in a simple way. I enjoyed a lot from this final requirement as we didn't think much about doing this activity. Aside from that, we can also give them a simple gift, especially when they are included at the bottom of society.
After the distribution of food, I decided to capture this beautiful scenery. It's a fulfilling experience to see this breathtaking made by God. All I could express while looking from side to side was, "Wow." The quality of the photo when I uploaded them here is a bit blurry, but I'm sure that you will be more amazed if you can visit them personally. It is entirely different from the farms I saw in the province as it is wider without noticing many infrastructures. You can also see the view of the mountain range in farther vision, which adds more to the attractive appearance of Calaocan.
That's the end of this blog. Our walk was short, but I made it a more memorable and worthwhile experience. See you soon, Calaocan.
