This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, (of the #wednesdaywalk) and
(of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
Last week I shared some photos of a unique sandstone rock formation that I discovered at Brighton Beach.
Today I would like to share some photos of the beach and some activities that took place while we were there.
As you arrive at the beach, one of the first things you notice is the nice tidal pool on the beach.
A nice wave coming in towards the tidal pool...
...and eventually breaking into the tidal pool...
The next scene just created a nice holiday feeling for me and I thought I should capture the moment in a photo...
To my right, there was a nice fun park, but it's clearly not in use at the moment...I don't know if maybe they plan to do some maintenance perhaps...
On the opposite side of the road, at the top of the hill, some holiday accommodation is visible.
Zooming in on the holiday accommodation...with a nice walkway going up the hill to connect the holiday accommodation with the beach below.
I walked up to take a closer look at the walkway, leading up to the holiday accommodation.
Across the road from the walkway to the beach, you can enter the beach area, with the fun park (seen in one of the previous photos) to the left, and a nice area to the right where you can just relax on some nice benches. Otherwise, you can go straight down to the beach if you want.
In the next photo, you can see the area with the benches if you just want to sit and relax while looking out over the ocean.
Just below the buildings at the lower end of the beach (visible in the distance in the photo above), I saw some colorful activity on the beach with some colorful spots in the sea as well...as you can see in the two photos below...
I took a walk down the beach to see what was going on and found that it was a body-board competition that was taking place with spectators and some colorful gazebos from the sponsors on the beach.
Watching the body-boarders, I started shooting...lol.
I didn't really have the right lens for the distance, but I took some photos anyway...
I got these two shots of this guy...
I then saw this guy catching a wave, coming out all the way to the beach...
The quality of these photos isn't all that good, but with some editing and cropping, I managed to bring him in close enough to enjoy some of the fun...
After some exciting twists and turns, he came out all the way, right onto the beach, where he grabbed his board and sprinted back into the water to catch the next wave while the crowd was cheering him on...
With that, I decided to take a walk back to the main beach, where my wife was waiting for me. She found a spot in the shade on some "pavilion-like" seats... You can actually see her in the next photo (about halfway up the little "pavilion")...the individual edged off against the blue wall in the distance...
...if you couldn't see her in the previous photo...lol.
We spent some more time just relaxing and watching the activity around us before we returned back home.
And that's it for today, folks. Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
