This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, (of the #wednesdaywalk) and
(of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this post by where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
Last weekend we had cloudy and windy weather. That meant that the beaches wouldn't be too crowded, as everybody was looking for indoor activities...
Especially the main beaches in Durban are getting busier and busier from now on with the December holiday season approaching us.
We paid a visit to Mini Town (I'll post about that on Friday), and with the area being relatively quiet due to the weather, we went for a short walk on the beachfront.
As you can see in my first photo, the beach we were on, was North Beach, Durban.
As we walked down toward the beach, I saw this frame that people use for fun photos. I've seen it many times before, but from the angle that I saw it this time, with the palm tree in the background, a picture popped into my head...lol.
I liked the view of the ocean through the opening you can see in my next photo.
The beach was quiet (as we expected) and the little activity that we did see, was mainly at venues such as can be seen in my next photo.
As mentioned, the beach was quiet, with only the tracks being left by the vehicle and trailer to get the lifesaver's boat (seen in the distance) onto the beach.
Most of the activity was the fisherman on the pier. Another young man was just ahead of us, on his way to join the fisherman at the end of the pier.
Looking out over the surf from the pier...
We left the pier to go for a walk in the park just above the promenade.
For my next photo, I was actually standing on the roof of the little restaurant which can be seen in the third photo of this post. The roof, which is at the same level as the park behind it, is covered with artificial grass to blend in with the park behind it and it provides a nice view over the ocean from here. The pier we've just been on is also visible to the left.
To the right, some youngsters were having fun at Durban Skate Park.
We went for a walk in the park behind us...
A nice view over the gardens...
With some colorful flowers in the foreground.
On our way back to the car, we came across these pigeons. They had absolutely no problem with me walking right up to them, taking some photos while standing almost between them. If I reached out, I would have been able to touch them, yet there was no attempt to get away from me...lol.
And that's it for today, folks!
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!
