Hello Wednesday walkers! Come with me for a walk through Svilajnac town and join the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by .
In previous posts, I wrote about amazing spots around this town, and today I will share with you a walk through the town that was short but long enough to feel the spirit of this place.
Svilajnac is nestled in central - eastern Serbia, where everyday life moves at a slow and peaceful pace. The town center felt calm and welcoming, with small streets, local shops, and just enough activity to give it life without the rush of bigger cities.
What I noticed while walking were different styles of architecture and it's a bit chaotic, I couldn't catch any thread and unique spirit. But what I felt was the kindness of the people and their cool vibes.
One of the highlights was the monument to Stevan Sinđelić, a reminder of the town's connection to Serbian history.
Known for his role in the First Serbian Uprising, Sinđelić symbolizes courage and sacrifice, and standing there brought a quiet moment of reflection during our walk.
As we continued, we reached the Resava River, gently flowing through the town. A small bridge connects both sides of the town.
On the promenade, my kids rode their scooters a bit, and what I noticed was that it was arranged and the atmosphere was cool. Svilajnac feels unhurried, almost like time slows down just enough for you to truly enjoy the moment.
Our path led us towards the Natural history center of Serbia and the Dino park.
My kids were excited to go inside, especially when they saw the huge dinosaur outside and so were we. 😊
About this experience I will write in the next post.
Thank you for reading and happy Wednesday! 😊
