Hi, how was your Wednesday today? I'm glad to be able to come and tell you about a pretty cool experience I had on my Wednesday walk.
Near where I grew up, when I was a child I saw a lake that was relatively close, although it was in an area that we usually did not visit, because it was mostly a place of crops and in which there was also a farm or two, to get to the lake I remember that we walked a lot, about 2 hours on a long dirt road, to finally see the shore, I liked going there, I really had a good time.
Time passed and little by little we stopped going to that place although we could always see it from afar when leaving home or visiting a nearby shopping mall. As the years went by, I could see that the lake got a little bit closer each time, it was no longer seen in the distance and instead, when passing by it, it seemed to get closer and closer. So every time you passed by on the road to go somewhere, you could see the lake there.
With the recent heavy rains, the lake grew even more and the truth is that although everyone was calm, I was a little scared, yes, I am a little anxious, thank God nothing happened. The week before last and this week, I could remember moments of my childhood, because some arrangements were made and we returned to that place again after a long time, but when I went in there everything was very different, there were only 2 banana plantations and walking to the edge of the long took us a few minutes.
The lake had made many houses, farms and even a very large cemetery disappear, as if they had never been there, among all these things was a nice big house of about four floors, and I was surprised to see a piece of it sticking out of the lake, because of its height, I could imagine how deep that part is, there were also some light poles nearby.
I watched in wonder for a while and could not help but reflect on how powerful nature is, all these areas were once part of this same lake that for some reason was collected, in fact for that reason the land is so fertile for planting, but after many years, the lake wants to reclaim its territory and there is nothing we humans can do to prevent it, but to see how little by little it is achieving it.
Walking here is still great for me, although the road is shorter, it is a very nice place to see, everywhere I look due to the vegetation there are animals and birds that eat the fish in the lake, although it is sad that many people have lost their homes and jobs and gives a little melancholy not to see what was once in this place, nature continues to give us something beautiful to see and enjoy.
