It's been a long time again since I got out and to be with nature. This wednesday walk, we went to a place that is very significant to the life of the farmers, especially to the rice farmers like us. As they said, in order to have good crops and abundant harvest there must be a good source of water. For water is the main factor that till make your plants or crops to grow healthy. Without it, for sure and I'm 100 percent with it especially to us, the crops and plants will die in no time. That's why having a good source and system is very essential for it will be the reason to produce a successful harvest.
My father told me about this one last Monday and asked me if I want to go with him up in the mountain, for me to see where the water we use in our farm comes from. So I woke up early on wednesday morning. I'm excited about it because I'm only hearing it from my late grandpa and father before. They talked about the place and ofcourse their past involvement with it. I was very curious about it since they said that it is located within the mountain that we see here within the plain.
That is the mountain I'm talking about from the photo above, the irrigation system is located within it's base. I was excited to see it and to take photos of it. As a farmer, it is one of the place I really love to see for it is the heart of our carreer. If it doesn't exist then we are long gone and can't continue this career.
I'm just little bit sad because I thought that I'm able to witness it for good but my father and some of the farmers within the next barangay has been assigned to clean and reconstruct the pathway for the water on the lower part of the main irrigation. I was a little bit disappointed but my father said to me that we will go there after their work so I was a little bit happy.
After they fixed the pathway, he called me and we went up to the mountain as you can see in the photo below, that is the pathway I'm talking about. As you can see it didn't have any concrete fence on the other side that's why it's prone to landslides and if something happens like that then it will cause a delay for the water to go down into our fields.
Whilw we go up I heard loud noise made by running water, I asked my father where it was coming from and he pointed out his finger. It's just up ahead and it is a river up in the mountain. That's just amazing. When the river is parallel to us, I was sad because I can't see the view because of the trunks of the gigantic trees blocking it. Since I was very eager to see the river, I find holes within the trunks wherein I can get a clear view. As you can see in the photo below, I got a pic of it through the hole. It's beautiful in real life with my eyes as the camera but when I took it, it became like that.
The lighting just mess the view or maybe my camera is just not good enough for shooting views in a distance.
After I took it, my father noticed that the farmers that were assigned up there were coming down so he decided that we will not continue to go up anymore because there's no more people there and who knows what might happens. We came down together with them.
The Clouds
The president of their association called up a meeting for them to discuss all the things regarding to the irrigation and all. While they're having it, I got bored and took my phone, opened my camera and looked up in the sky. The clear blue sky was partnered with the clouds like cottons. Some of them even got my attention and made my imagination to work.
And here are the clouds I'm talking about. As I stared at them, my brain was forming images through those clouds. I don't know how I did it but it's just awesome.
When we got home that day, I opened my sketchbook application to draw something out of those clouds that formed images on my head. You can see below the images from my imagination while I stared at those clouds. The first one is a body builder and the second one is a fish, maybe a shark because of it's very sharps teeth.
As I look around the place, something got my attention and I can say for sure that it was so beautiful. It's color stands out from the greenery of the grasses. What a gorgeous flower it is. I want to bring it home but it will lose it's life along the way so I didn't continue to do it. I left it to the place where it was and we bid goodbye already.
And that's how my wednesday walk went through. If you read this far, thank you my friends.
Walk, explore and capture great sceneries.
