Christmas tree
The most stunning sight of the night was of course the huge Christmas tree standing tall in the center. The tree had colorful patterns across it, and the twinkling lights were glowing vividly against the night. At the top of the tree was a large star. I stood in front of it, unable to resist the urge to stop for a moment to behold this beauty. At the base of the tree lay strings of lights running along, far and wide, giving the whole place sparks. It felt like stepping into a village from a Christmas storybook.
Colorful Tunnels
Next to the Christmas tree was a light tunnel in shades of pink, yellow, and green. While passing through it, I was surprised at how everything looked so vivid and colorful. The tunnel wasn't just beautiful; it was one of the busiest spots, too. Everybody, including us, stopped to take photos. I had seen so many people smile, laugh, and take pictures with their friends and family. It really made it even more worthwhile to see the joy in their faces. With the lights, it just seemed to bring everyone closer—even strangers, it did.
Dancing Fountain
Another crowds’ favorite was the dancing fountain show. The water shot up in the air in perfect sync with music, while colorful lights shone on the streams, making them look magical. It was calming and yet exciting while viewing the fountain. Children opened their mouths in awe, and others clapped to the rhythm of the music. I stood there for a while, took some shots and just enjoy its beauty. The combination of water, music, and light made me feel like a kid again: giddy and carefree.
Food Stalls
Of course, a best part of the night was the food. There were so many food stalls selling everything from snacks to treats wherever we went. Sort of a mini food festival, it was. Grilled barbecue smelled so good in the air that I simply could not resist getting a stick or two. Other vendors sold roasted corn, hot drinks, and sweet desserts—perfect for the cool evening weather. The food stalls even offered some local favorite Cebuano dishes that gave us a taste of home. Eating under the glow of the Christmas lights made the food even more enjoyable. It reminded me that good food and good company make any celebration complete.
Balloons
And, of course, there were still vendors selling balloons and all kinds of toys with glow-in-the-dark accessories. The balloons were very clear with small LED lights inside of them and really appeared as floating balls of light.
As we walked around, we came across the buildings and shops that were very nicely decorated. From the sparkling lights to the festive decorations, each corner of the place had the spirit of Christmas that shines brightly. There were also areas where you can sit down and take rest, eat, or enjoy the view. It was so heartwarming to see so many people coming together to share this special night. The laughter, the chitchat, and Christmas songs playing in the background were enough to make everything warm and alive. But what really made the night special was of course, the atmosphere. Yes, It was busy and crowded, but there was an extraordinary joy that surrounds the whole place. Christmas is always about togetherness, and that's exactly what I felt in Danao City.
People took the time to enjoy the simple things: the lights, the music, the food, and most importantly, each other's company. It was crowded though, but it felt like every other human being in that place shared an excitement and happiness similar to mine. As i walked around the Christmas village one last time before heading home, I felt grateful to have been part of such a beautiful celebration. It reminded me of what I love most about this season. But it isn't all about the decorations and lights this Christmas; rather, it is about spending time with loved ones, seeing kids light up, hearing laughter all over, and making memories that will always be remembered.
So, if you are in Cebu this Christmas, I highly recommend Danao City's Christmas light show. It is truly a perfect spot to experience the spirit of Christmas. The giant tree, dancing fountain, color tunnels, and the rows and rows of food will keep your heart full. Some moments remind us all, occasionally, that all one has to have to make up happiness are lights, foods, and loved ones around you. This was indeed a magical evening, which brought out the little child in me, who was so filled with curiosity and enthusiasm for the future season.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful holiday everyone!😊
