Greetings to everyone on this Wednesday Walk!
As every Wednesday I join the initiative to show the places I have visited during the week, and also to get to know new places around the world. These are some pictures I took during a recent visit to Havana. This is Prado Street, in the vicinity of the Havana Capitol. This is a very central place and everyone always wants to photograph this grandiose building, but these pictures I show you today are not of the Capitol but of everything interesting in the surroundings.
Passing the Capitolio, in just two blocks we can see many amazing things, a mixture of architecture, culture and history of Havana.
One of the defining characteristics of the city and one that always amazes foreign visitors is the large number of antique cars that run the streets. With their beautiful bodies painted in bright colors, it seems as if time has stopped in the glamorous 1950s, Havana's best years, which these vehicles refuse to let us forget.
Here we also find the majestic Gran Teatro de la Habana, Alicia Alonso, named in honor of the former director of the National Ballet for many years and an unforgettable dancer, is an architectural jewel that cannot be overlooked.
In front of it is the always busy Central Park with its monument to José Martí, Cuba's national hero, who stands with his arm raised as if to call the attention of all those who pass by him.
The streets of Havana are never empty, there is always a great bustle of people at any time of the day, where you can feel the warmth not only of our tropical climate but also of all the people of Havana. A place worth visiting.
That's all, I hope you liked this little walk, see you next Wednesday!
