sometimes things happen in life that you absolutely didn't expect.
So last week I came from work, opened the mail as usual and suddenly had 2 concert tickets in hand.

manchmal passieren im Leben Dinge, mit denen man absolut nicht gerechnet hat.
So kam ich letzte Woche von der Arbeit, öffnete wie immer die Post und hatte plötzlich 2 Konzerttickets in der Hand.
I must admit, I had already forgotten that I had entered the competition, and the artist Till Brönner I knew so far only from hearsay. Nevertheless, I was very happy, because I am always available for cultural events.
I googled first once this Till Brönner and found out that he is the most successful German jazz musician or trumpeter. He was the only German musician to be invited to a concert by Barack Obama in 2016, alongside greats like Aretha Franklin and Sting, and has won 2 Grammys so far.
That I didn't really know Till Brönner until now is because I'm not a big jazz enthusiast. But I love good artists and especially live music and am also always open to new things, so I was really looking forward to this event.
In addition, our son was allowed to spend a night with grandma and grandpa and my husband and I had once again a rare evening as a couple.
Ich muss zugeben, ich hatte schon vergessen, dass ich bei dem Gewinnspiel mitgemacht habe, und den Künstler Till Brönner kannte ich bisher auch nur vom Hörensagen. Trotzdem freute ich mich riesig, denn für kulturelle Veranstaltungen bin ich immer zu haben.
Ich googelte erste einmal diesen Till Brönner und stellte fest, dass er der erfolgreichste deutsche Jazz Musiker bzw. Trompeter ist. Als einziger deutscher Musiker wurde er 2016 von Barack Obama neben Größen wie Aretha Franklin und Sting zu einem Konzert eingeladen und hat bisher 2 Grammys gewonnen.
Das ich Till Brönner bisher nicht wirklich kannte liegt daran, dass ich kein großer Jazz Enthusiast bin. Aber ich liebe gute Künstler und vor allem Live Musik und bin auch immer offen für Neues, daher freute ich mich sehr auf dieses Event.
Zudem durfte unser Sohn eine Nacht bei Oma und Opa verbringen und mein Mann und ich hatten mal wieder einen seltenen Abend zu zweit.
The bus took us to the neighboring town of Minden. Thus, we had no parking problem and also the possibility to have a drink or two.
We were lucky. The bus was empty and therefore felt like an oversized cab ;)
Der Bus hat uns in die Nachbarstadt Minden gebracht. Dadurch hatten wir kein Parkplatzproblem und auch die Möglichkeit das ein oder andere Getränk zu uns nehmen zu können.
Wir hatten Glück. Der Bus war leer und fühlte sich daher wie ein überdimensioniertes Taxi an ;)
Arrived in Minden, we first made ourselves comfortable in a cafe and observed the hustle and bustle in the city. The concert was to take place at the Domhof, which is located directly in the city center.
In Minden angekommen, haben wir es uns zunächst in einem Cafe gemütlich gemacht und das Treiben in der Stadt beobachtet. Das Konzert sollte auf dem Domhof stadtfinden, welcher sich unmittelbar in der Innenstadt befindet.
In the town you can admire some buildings from the Weser Renaissance.
In der Stadt kann man einige Bauwerke aus der Weserrenaissance bewundern.
The Minden Cathedral, in front of whose backdrop the concert was to take place, is considered one of the most important architectural landmarks of Minden. It was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War and then rebuilt in 1946 - 1957.
Der Mindener Dom, vor dessen Kulisse das Konzert stattfinden sollte, gilt als eines der wichtigsten architektonischen Wahrzeichens Mindens. Er wurde im zweiten Weltkrieg fast vollständig zerstört und dann 1946 - 1957 wieder aufgebaut.
When the concert began, it quickly became clear that Till Brönner is a virtuoso on the trumpet. But he can also convince as a singer and entertainer and thus presented himself as a true multi-talent. With his calm and smart manner he inspired the audience. The other band members were also able to present themselves individually and prove their skills with their solo performances. You could feel a great harmony between the band members and the love for music that united them on stage.
Als das Konzert begann, wurde schnell klar, dass Till Brönner ein Virtuose auf der Trompete ist. Aber auch als Sänger und Entertainer kann er überzeugen und präsentierte sich somit als wahres Multitalent. Mit seiner ruhigen und smarten Art begeisterte er das Publikum. Auch die anderen Bandmitglieder konnten sich einzeln präsentieren und mit ihren Solo Darbietungen ihr Können unter Beweis stellen. Man spürte eine großartige Harmonie zwischen den Bandmitgliedern und die Liebe zur Musik, die sie auf der Bühne verband.
At nightfall, the trees in the cathedral courtyard as well as the cathedral itself were bathed in beautiful light.
Zum Einbruch der Dunkelheit wurden die Bäume auf dem Domhof sowie der Dom selber in schönes Licht getaucht.
The setting, the atmosphere and the musical performance could not have been better, and we were happy and grateful that by chance we could participate in this event.
Die Kulisse, die Atmosphäre und die musikalische Leistung konnte besser nicht sein, und wir waren glücklich und dankbar, dass wir durch Zufall an diesem Ereignis teilnehmen konnten.
