Slow afternoon.
A breath of calm through the salty scent of the fresh province's air.
Waves softly play a steady rhythm as they glitter under the sun's rays and freely shimmer across the wide sea.
One enchanting walk on this corner of the world - would you like to walk with me?
Hello, everyone!
It was going to be a holiday, so one of our colleagues, who is a local in Palawan, invited us to spend the long weekend at his home in Conception, one of the Barangays here in Puerto Princesa.
It was a one-and-a-half-hour drive from the city. And with the mesmerising highway scenery, a chill and relaxing one-and-a-half-hour drive, by the way.
As we arrived at our destination, the inviting fine weather made me decide to go on a walk and explore the place which at first glance is stunningly beautiful.
As I was approaching the beach, I passed by these lovely colorful flowers, gently swaying with the breathtaking scenery of the lush green mountain behind them, which felt so uplifting to my soul.
I was greeted by this cute little furred fellow, who is calmly enjoying the quiet afternoon.
And finally, right in front of me is the pristine crystal clear water, for a moment, I breathe the tranquil air. Somehow, a hard week's exhaustion seems to have been all lifted off my shoulders.
And I utter a silent whisper "God, I am beyond grateful for this privilege."
As I continued my stroll. I cannot help but grabbed my phone and took a snap of these waves that were patiently dancing as they swayed back and forth to the shore, unchanged.
And seeing these lovely flowers with their soft purple colours is like staring at a small miracle. Their delicate petals, who are mute witnesses to a stormy or calm sea, are a beautiful reminder that despite all the challenges, life finds its way not just to grow, but to flourish as well.
What's amazing about this place is that on the other side, you'll get to walk along pebbly sand, which of course has its own beautiful charm.
While on the other corner of the shore, have your feet feast as you feel the Boracay-like fine sand.
And then I reached this corner - it felt like the highlight of what I thought would be just a simple and relaxing walk by the beach. As I stared at the river before me, I found myself at a loss for words.
For a moment, my eyes were fixed on the clear water, framed by mangrove trees gently swaying in the calm sea breeze.
The landscape feels quietly magical.
I was enchanted. It was magically beautiful.
So I decided to sit and pause for a while and live in that magical moment.
I can't help but wonder what's waiting on the other side of the river - the something that remained unseen. But I guess, that's the magic in it - leaving you wondering about the beautiful unknown waiting beyond.
On my walk back, I was accompanied by a small group of cows - quietly reminding me that even the most ordinary creatures can become a part of a beautiful moment, adding enchantment to that simple afternoon walk.
As I passed this little nipa hut, I couldn't help but appreciate the slow, unhurried pace of an afternoon here in the province that hits differently - a comforting sense of familiarity as someone who was born and raised in the countryside.
It reminds me so much of home.
And how about the joy of appreciating the little things - that even the raindrops resting on the tip of the nipa roof felt utterly magical?
Away from the hustle and bustle of the fast-paced city life, an enchanting haven - Palawan, everyone. ✨️
