The sun is rarely to be seen last week because of the cloudy weather and it is almost raining everyday. However the heavens seemed to answer my prayers and blessed me with some sunlight at the middle of the week and that is on Wednesday and I am so glad that it falls on my day off. So I took the opportunity to spend sometime outdoors and bound to the neighboring villages for a photowalk along their vast sandy and rocky shoreline. My jump-off point was at the borderline of these villages then I head northwards to the vast sandy shore of Tammocalao.
The place is very ideal for any beach activity like volleyball, picnic, and atv rides as the vastness of the flat sandy shoreline can accomodate ballgame courts, picnic sheds as well as enough space for off road vehicles to roll on and I had seen an ATV track imprinted on the sand when I made my walk. Adjacent to the beach is a residential zone where beautiful new houses were built and most of these houses have two storeys.
As I walked further to appreciate the view, a flowering cactus plant caught my attention along the way and took some few steps to get closer and I found out that the cactus is a species of cactus belonging to genus Opuntia which are commonly called as prickly pear cactus.
Then I begun to walk at the opposite direction, this time going southwards to the rocky beach of the village of Cabarsican.
Here, the view of the industrial zone located at the village where I reside can be seen from a distance if you look towards the north.
I see some people fishing with their fishing rods in spite of the big waves as they believe that there are more fishes going closer to the shore when there are big waves.
There are also species of wild plants that thrives along the beach and this one which is known as
Vitex rotundifolia, or round leaf chaste tree grow at some parts of the rocky shoreline.
There is also a species of purslane plant that grows at the crevices of rocks and they are known as Portulaca pilosa or seashore purslane.
As it gets hot in the morning, I decided to cut my walk off and headed towards my jump off point to go home and I saw a heard of free range goats resting along the line of mesquite trees.
But when I about to move closer, the goats suddenly walked away and headed northwards. I chose not to chase them because for sure these goats will run faster than me and I cant either run as the rocks have rugged sharp surfaces that can easily harm my feet once I made a wrong move to walk or run.
To close this article, here's a bit of trivia especially to my fellow Filipinos who are reading this right now.
This shoreline is where some of the scenes of actor turned senator Robin Padilla with actress Dawn Zulueta first hit movie was made titled "Hindi Pahuhuli ng Buhay" or literally translated in English as "Cannot Be Captured Alive" and it was shown in 1989 with a blockbuster hit.
That's all for now and thanks for reading and I will be posting my selhie which is I took along with the landmark in the background. Thanks for reading.
