Hello friends of Hive, it is a pleasure to be with you again. On this occasion, I will tell you about a new tour I took through Havana. Where the objective was to enter the mysterious Jewish cemetery of Guanabacoa, in search of exclusive photographs for the channel. Although this story, it is somewhat different, since nothing turned out as we expected.
Hola amigos de Hive, es un placer estar de nuevo con ustedes. En esta oportunidad, les relataré sobre un nuevo recorrido que hice por la Habana. Dónde el objetivo era entrar al misterioso cementerio judío de Guanabacoa, en busca de fotografías exclusivas para el canal. Aunque está historia, es un tanto diferente, ya que nada salió como lo esperamos.
Well, as usual, I decided to start my trip with my boyfriend, who suggested I go to the beach whereabouts. A bus terminal in which we could reach our destination; the municipality of Guanabacoa.
Pues bueno, cómo de costumbre decidí empezar mi viaje al lado de mi novio, el cual me sugirió ir hacia el paradero de playa. Una terminal de ómnibus en la cual, podríamos llegar a nuestro destino; el municipio de Guanabacoa.
However, walking towards the place we came across a bust of Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, the popular "Ché Guevara". A world-renowned icon for his history, how photographs. For what we dared to give you this shot, what you will see of the curious monument. This is abandoned, on the side of the road.
Sin embargo, caminando hacía el lugar nos tropezamos con un busto de Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, el popular "Ché Guevara". Un ícono mundialmente reconocido por su historia, cómo fotografías. Por lo que nos atrevimos a regalarles está toma, que verán del curioso monumento. Este se encuentra abandonado, a un lado de la carretera.
We continued walking, and managed to catch the bus. Unfortunately, in the middle of the journey he suffered a technical problem. For which we had to wait for the driver to take care of the problem. And it gave us the opportunity to appreciate the Havana boardwalk. A capital symbol par excellence.
Proseguimos la marcha, y conseguimos coger el ómnibus. Lamentablemente, en medio del trayecto sufrió un desperfecto técnico. Por lo cual tuvimos que esperar que el chófer, se encargará del problema. Y nos dió la oportunidad, de apreciar el malecón habanero. Un símbolo capitalino por excelencia.
Fixed the transportation predicament, we got back on the bus. And after a long hour, which seemed eternal, we were able to reach our destination. We had finally made it to Guanabacoa! But, as it were a joke of fate, the Jewish cemetery was closed.
Arreglado el predicamento del transporte, nos metimos de nuevo al ómnibus. Y tras una larga hora, que se nos hizo eterna, pudimos alcanzar nuestro destino. ¡Por fin habíamos logrado llegar a Guanabacoa! Pero, tal fuese una broma del destino, el cementerio judío estaba cerrado.
We were only able to photograph the outside, since according to the caretakers, it was not possible to enter due to a situation. Which they did not know, or did not want to explain. Quite mysterious indeed.
Solo pudimos fotografiar el exterior, ya que según los cuidadores, no se podía entrar debido a una situación. La cual no supieron, o no quisieron explicar. Bastante misterioso ciertamente.
A bit upset, we had to leave. The fiasco of not being able to enter, did not happen to us. In the end, quite disappointed, we made our way to the stop. Where we came up with a new idea. Photograph various special places in the west of the capital.
Un poco molestos, tuvimos que retirarnos. El fiasco de no poder entrar, no se nos pasaba. En fin, bastante decepcionados, tomamos camino hacia la parada. Donde se nos ocurrió una nueva idea. Fotografíar varios lugares especiales del oeste de la capital.
We made several stops, as expected. Where we stand out, a look at the Plaza Martiana, a colorful street in Centro Habana, snapshots of the beautiful Wilfredo Lam Park, and a church in the heart of Vedado. I hope you like these photographs, since for us it was a consolation prize, quite sweet.
Hicimos varias paradas, cómo es de esperarse. Dónde destacamos, una mirada a la plaza martiana, una calle colorida de Centro Habana, instantáneas del hermoso parque Wilfredo Lam, y una iglesia en el corazón del vedado. Espero sean de su agrado estás fotografías, ya que para nosotros fue un premio de consolación, bastante dulce.
To conclude our adventure, and on our way home, we almost forgot to photograph one of the architectural gems of my home town. The obelisk and source of Marianao. The obelisk, one of the largest in the country, and the fountain, a faithful host for visitors.
Para concluir nuestra aventura, y ya camino a nuestra casa, casi se nos olvida fotografiar una de las joyas arquitectónicas de mi municipio natal. El obelisco y fuente de Marianao. El obelisco, uno de los más grande del país, y la fuente, fiel anfitriona para los visitantes.
