I do gardening almost every day and that is what makes me happy. So for my first-time engagement to @WednesdayWalk by , I would like to bring you on my walk to a neighbouring farm on a Wednesday afternoon to pick some rice hulls for my gardening medium and to catch a fresh breeze by the rice fields since we were not able to do rice gardening for years already and I go there also just to enjoy nature at the same time.
On my way to the site where I will pick the rice hulls, I passed by these beautiful renewed leaves of banana trees and tresses that were torn down by the typhoon last December.
A few steps forward I passed this simple nipa hut with a lot of plants that I admire especially the orchid plants so took some shots also to share with you.
As I walk towards there and got nearer I was amazed at the prepared land for the corn planting for this season and the green side which you can see in my first picture was also a rice plantation where locals planted the leftover seedlings after the typhoon and now their almost ready to harvest.
And now I arrived at my destination to pick up rice hulls. It is located under a bamboo tress together with other stuff like decomposed tress of banana, coconut tree parts, bamboos and other rice parts from the past harvest and also I can spot some garbage too. This place was their camp after rice harvest because of the shade that the bamboo provides while they are busy separating rice from the stem so that is why I did find a lot of rice hulls here.
It's a little bit scary to stay at the site because I'm alone and I was thinking of some stuff to appear like snakes or whatever I will encounter so I immediately took my small shovel and the sack and started picking rice hulls to bring back home. After I'm done with my intention I took a glimpse at the other side of the way and see these lovely rice fields and the rice that is almost ready to harvest.
After taking the photos I decided to go home and carry half of the sack of rice hulls.
And after I got home I was busy putting some gel for insect bites. So yeah I was full of mosquito bites and it was so itchy 😂 but for me despite that, indeed it was an amazing @WednesdayWalk since I was used to insects bites already 😁.
Thank you for reading this far. I hope you enjoyed my walk into nature and wishing everyone have a lovely day today.
