Hello everyone! Back here to tell you about our outing, this time to my youngest son's swimming lessons, who attends a heated pool on Mondays and Wednesdays to practice, but mostly to have fun and enjoy the water this summer season.
Although he is not yet swimming on his own, as he needs some support to be safe, at least his coach has managed to get him to stop using the floats and he has started to swim with the board!
As the classes have already started, we have to adjust to the timetable for leaving school and entering swimming, so with just enough time we grab lunch and go down to catch the bus. It doesn't take us more than 15 minutes to get there, but we have to be aware of the times the bus passes by our house.
As I almost never leave the area where we live, since my kids´ school and my work are right there, I take advantage of the opportunity to see the changes that take place outside my "borders".
On the way down, we have to walk a couple of blocks, on very nice sidewalks, not like the traditional concrete ones. That leads me to think that even if we are in a hurry, we should give ourselves time to appreciate the details of the places we pass by, because even if we do it often, there is always something new to discover.
My boy really enjoys his classes, and although at the beginning I put pressure on him to learn to swim, stressing the cost of tuition, his attitude has taught me that I should relax, because in his own words he asked to enter these classes to have a good time, the rest will come when it has to come.
And he is right! When we stop worrying about the result, and enjoy the process, everything happens in the best way. Now I understand his determination to sit at the window, walk looking at the sky or jump to avoid stepping on the stripes on the sidewalk.
Living a little bit his way, I have managed to find moments of relaxation in spaces I would never have imagined before!
