Wednesday Walk/Make Me Smile.... Edition dd. 27.4.2022
Our weather is still crazy... rain_ shine_cloudy_windy and cold! I thought of going shopping and the cloudy skies and cold temps didn't bother me, so I went shopping at the G3 Mall that is about 15 KM from my home. Was it because of the pandemic that the mall was almost empty? Or was it the weather?
Well, after shopping, I passed by the farmland we used to go to for a walk with our beloved dogs Ako the Rottie and Lily, the Chihuahua. Before, we walked with Ako in this area of Gerasdorf. We loved it here because it is so serene on weekdays. It is not far from our former house, maybe about 2 kilometers. Here, we also biked around and there is a long biker´s trail parallel to the creek.
This farmland is full of fond memories since we have had Ako for 14 years since he was a puppy. Then when he passed in 2007, we said we were not going to have another dog. But my mom in-law got sick in 2014 and so we got Lily, the chihuahua. We had her for about 6 years until 2020.
I went to see the paddock, walked a bit to see the horses. Ako have had so much respect on these horses. He would just stared at them and slowly made his way passing them. It was also the same with Lily. But I think, Lily had just been intimidated at the size of the horses.
Not so far away from the paddock, the town has a manmade lake that used to be a stone quarry. Since there was no sun, the body of water was green with the reflection of the trees and plants.
This body of water is actually a creek that had been man-made so the farmers could get water from the Danube River. It is also a favorite swimming/play area for the dogs when walking with their family. I met a guy with his dog (below image) and asked him if I could take a photo of the dog playing in the water, he said yes.
This is our favorite area of walking because one could pass through the long way without any stress, this area is so peaceful that the dogs liked it because they can do their "business" without any distractions.
From the elevated area, we could see the silhouette of the buildings at the 22nd District. We live about 2 kilometers behind those buildings.
There are arrays of lilacs planted along the way and which has been the source of my bouquet below. It really had been a nice Wednesday walk and I felt rejuvenated !
That´s about my walk for today and I am thanking
and
for this fun collaboration.
It really made me smile reminiscing the lovely walks with our pet family.
