These days my husband and I continued exploring the surroundings and possible hiking routes. We went into the semi-wilderness, outside the city and buildings, getting to know the simpler life that people had in the countryside. It somehow reminds me of my hometown... although I was not born in a village, the open area and the gardens reminded me of my childhood.
A garden, or arable land requires work, effort and time, there is always something to do around it. Probably less during the winter but in spring, there is already a lot to do. Even if you don't have vegetables and plants that require a lot of work, there is also work to be done with trees. Pruning them, taking care of pests, harvesting the fruits when they arrive, etc.
During our walk, we saw so many nice houses and gardens but also those that had a somewhat neglected appearance. I understand that many people decided just to move into the urban area and visit the gardens just when have time for it. However, there was a nice surprise, we found this establishment, La Reserva. It is a small cooperative dedicated to the production and sale of organic products. I found their online shop and saw that we can choose from fresh vegetables and fruit, meat and fish, oils, sauces, olives, nuts, eggs, cereals, legumes, milk, cheese, cookies, coffee, tea, chocolate, cocoa, infusions, spices etc, and later, the orders are delivered to the customer's home.
Close to that cooperative, there was a field with many olive trees. They have great importance in the Mediterranean region, especially here in this part of Spain because of the olive oil. People here really use it a lot, a friend of mine is a real example who puts olive oil almost in every dish. I consume it too, but not in such quantity.
As officially it is still winter (but already with some spring temperatures 😌) many trees still wear this invisible foliage.
Others have the same outfit during the whole year, such as cacti.
The nicest trees we saw during our walk were the almond trees. They are blooming now, I could not get enough of them... so, from this moment on, spamming with pictures of almond blossoms begins. 😂
Although all of these flowers look almost the same, they are not all coming from the same tree. They come from several different trees that we passed by.
These white blossoms were tinged with pink; I loved them too!
I know that the almond blossoms are about to end so I am happy that these days I got the chance to see it. The branches started to show these beautiful flowers about a week or two ago and they cannot last forever. The flowers will be replaced by little almonds that will take time to mature, until the end of summer. As we see, nature takes care of itself; we can participate as observers of these changes and enjoy their beauty. 🌸
