What kind of beings are we, humans? We need motivation for everything, as well as for walking. I missed that this morning because when my husband woke up and suggested we go for a walk while it wasn't too hot, I thought he was just kidding. That was at 6 in the morning. The next moment, when the hands of the clock showed nine hours and twenty minutes and my eyes were trying to open, I realized that he was not kidding, and he had fulfilled the daily walk quota. Me? I seem to have chosen to sleep. What kind of Wednesday walker am I? Lazy, I think.
But I will go easy on myself because I still have the afternoon and an evening walk could happen. There is a more rural area close to us where the path passes by some old orchards and fenced plots. Some of them are not maintained very well, either because the owners don't have time for the orchards or they don't live nearby.
The plots do have some kind of life on them. There are always some animals, birds, squirrels, or even wild boars. Once it happened that a little wild boar run out to the path and immediately run back to the plot when he saw us. Other times we see donkeys, ponies or horses, but we are sure they have owners.
We met a white donkey on one of these walks. He came to the fence when I called him, probably as he was curious or was waiting for some treat. I tried to pet them, but it is not easy because of the chain-link fence.
He was not alone in that plot. There was a black horse, which completely ignored me (second photo) and a golden-coloured horse. Right behind the white donkey. He was giving me signs with his head to see the horse.
Guess what - it also ignored me 😂
More donkeys and ponies were encountered but behind a different fence and a different plot. There was a golden pony (who was not interested at all to come and have a cuddle) and a black one. This guy came close.
And he was asking for some food maybe. He was threatening to bite the chain-link fence.
I have just my hand. And I need my fingers so it would not be a good idea to bite them, ok?
As I am not Dr Dolittle, I couldn't explain to him... but maybe the black pony understood. He tried just the fence and not my fingers.
An attempt to cuddle his muzzle and greet him until our next meeting. This could easily happen later today, as I indeed plan to walk exactly there to make up for my morning laziness. Will I meet these guys?
