There is a proverb in my native language which says that those who get up early will be lucky during the day, or will get two good things. It is something like the English proverb: The early bird gets the worm. Not that I want a worm or to have some profit, but I see some benefits of this new habit. Just last week I complained that I couldn't wake up early, but you see, I changed for the better in this getting up thingy.
So, for a few consecutive days, we are getting up before the sun shows itself on the horizon. We get ready, pack some food, water and towels and go for a walk. Usually by a river and around one rural part of the neighborhood town and then we go to the seashore. Bathing, swimming, sunbathing and around lunchtime we are heading home.
Why did we change to this schedule of a morning walk and not in the evening?
You can guess easily - because in the morning it is still bearable to walk and not get a heatstroke hahaha. And the sea is smooth and clear, without waves. I try to use all my free days before I start working in September for activities that are typical for vacations 😁. Walks included.
There are just a few houses in that area where we passed before reaching the river. Over the fence of one, we saw banana trees and fruits on them.
In the continuation of the same fence, there were also grapes. This gives some autumn vibes, seeing grapes... but the temperatures are assuring us that we are still in summer. 🌞
More fruits appeared that morning.
What would we do without oranges? Though, they are still green.
Persimmon fruits are also waiting for their ripening. There is a variety of persimmon that grows here in the Valencian region, called Rojo Brillante. We see that it still needs some time to become red.
We slowly arrived close to the river and wild fruit trees and shrubs served me a luxurious breakfast. The first course was a fig. That yellow one ;)
The main course was a handful of blackberries. We just need patience while picking them and taking care of the thorns...
Time can stop when you find a blackberry shrub so in one moment I had to remind myself that we are taking a walk. The fruit breakfast stop was finished and our feet continued their mission - reach the destination we still had to conquer that morning.
