Once upon a time, somewhere close to one blue river, a pair of feet explored the forest and the path that followed the embankment of the same river. The first instances didn't promise a lot. There was just that road on the embankment, with a forest on one side and a slope on the other one. That side was leading to a meadow. The forest side was something I liked as it was giving the shadow and made the walk enjoyable. It was on my right...
...but just one moment later, I turned back and a marvellous thing happened! Imagine what?!
Now, it was on my left. :D
I know, not a strange happening at all, but in every story, there are miracles and magical forests and encounters with mystical creatures, so a forest that changes sides sneaked into this tale as the most natural detail.
It stayed on my left for some moments and decided to play the same game again with me. It went back to the other side. Forests are just like that, make us get lost sometimes. For sure, they hide some secrets too. The meadow seemed safe and innocent, it is not surprising the feet of the storyteller went in that direction.
A soft rug of grass, with little bugs, grasshoppers, and tiny flowers. A silky buzzing was heard all around, smooth music to the ears. A new chapter started, calming the atmosphere to the point that the story could finish as a lullaby. The ending note almost came, but don't you worry, a new surprise invaded the peace.
Run!
Bees!
To be honest, they didn't invade my space. I invaded their space, you see?
I found myself in their yard, it was not the smartest thing to continue walking there, around the beehives.
Neither it was smart to go this close to their house. But just a short greeting to these kind creatures that buzzed back and ignored me. They were looking for a sweeter thing. I was not a good match.
A bit disappointed that the encounter with the bees finished, my eyes found consolation in flowers. Not some special ones, just those field flowers we all know from our childhood days. Even if I don't remember the name of it (maybe never knew it actually?) I do remember the feeling when you touch it. Tiny white petals that form small clusters, and those composing a bigger natural artwork - the flower.
And the white flower when receives a visitor gives us even a more pleasant sight. Getting lost in the tasty flower, the poor bug may finish there forever. The last supper maybe... But let's not close the story here. Bees and bugs, playful forests and feet, there is still room for new experiences. Why not enter that forest from the beginning of the fantasy?
The very first opportunity to do that showed itself in the form of this path.
Come!
Come closer!
Don't be afraid!
It was calling me, promising nothing but fun. And shadow from the sun.
I listened to the call, and indeed, it was a nice surprise, so much green in different shades played with my vision.
Just don't stop.
Continue walking...
I was impressed. Very tall trees appeared around me and the leaves whispered such beautiful tunes. The breeze helped so their voice was very charming. I didn't expect trees would sing that day to me.
At the end of that path, I started to see a new horizon, something blue was hiding there. Must be that hidden gem, a reward for being brave and passing through the forest. I just had to make a few steps more, when I heard again the calling voice:
Soon you will reach the treasure.
Don't stop now!
Ok, ok, I am doing it. Why do I always have to be reminded about that? It's a bit suspicious, all those voices making sure I should not stop. The forest could see I am there, walking.
Who was speaking to me?
Here, here, look at me.
I am here, down, in the sand!
Come, and I will be your friend!
Luckily, just a few days before this walk happened I read The Little Prince, once again after doing it so many times. I knew it was not the time the snake should help me go back from where I came from.
We greeted each other politely, and I continued walking towards the blue. This time already without voices, my path was mapped out. The river was waiting, to show its beautiful flow to all of us in this tale.
