Do you know what is one of the best reasons you get out to have a walk?
Is it sunshine?
Is it a need to stay fit?
Maybe a way to meet friends or have a chit-chat with them while walking?
All these are perfect motives not to stay at home. I would pick any of them to take a little walk, but today I had a different reason, which was even simpler... I needed to buy two onions. Exactly two, as they will go to the stew, according to my recipe. Not that I need to read the instructions and anyway I use ingredients that I have at home, but without onions, this dish can't be prepared.
To be honest, sunshine was also tempting as for a week or so rain was the main protagonist here. Do you want to see it? I made a little GIF from a video I took yesterday when the sky was completely grey.
...
Well, seems that it doesn't want to upload correctly to Hive so we leave it out. Sunshine is stronger than a rainy GIF 😂 That is good actually, so let's see how sunny it was while I was on that mission to use my feet to get to the grocery and buy the needed onions.
It was so bright and sunny that the colours of the flowers I saw started to fade. It is Miss Bougainvillea btw, there are so many of them around but they decided not to shine with pleasing colours today. Their flowers can't be captured nicely. (It is not true though - probably it can be done, but this user is not very good at that task so she has to invent an excuse why the photos are not better...)
The white flowers behaved a bit better. Not too photogenic either but at least they contrasted with the background.
Some of those white flowers died when saw me approaching, then I decided to leave them alone. They deserve a better life and photographers. I will focus on green leaves, they don't fail when captured with a phone.
And this big leaf?
No, I didn't pick that leaf from a tree. I found it on a pile of branches and leaves that had been cut off. Today the workers are pruning the lower branches of the trees on this street. I believe these trees have their hairdressers.
All this walk toward my destination was already pleasing me, the green leaves, trees, flowers, the birds I heard... but the thing that brought a smile to my face was a tree that was also smiling. She is living in one roundabout in front of one hotel. Mrs Tree even has eyes, a nose and a friendly smile and arms. We can't ignore it :)
A closer capture of the tree with this lovely smile - she is sending it to all of us.
