That Saturday morning was quite gray in the city of Krakow. We thought it was only cloudy and that there would be no rain, so we decided on the adventure of looking for breakfast near the train station. That is because when we arrived by train in this Polish city, leaving the train station, I thought I saw a place selling burek. It is a pie, or pastry, made of filo of Balkan origin. It can be with meat, cottage cheese, spinach, etc., and our favourite type is filled with cheese.
We had a lot of plans for the day, including a visit to a museum and a full afternoon of activities in the Kingdom at HiveBeeCon, but the burek was worth getting up early and walking around to find it.
First, we left the old center, where we had our accommodation, crossed the old gate and the tower, as well as the green belt (circular park) that surrounds it, horses, statues, buildings... and finally, when we reached the place with the "imagined" burek, we realized that it was just a dream. It wasn't real, ie, it wasn't the thing we thought it would be.
Just a wish, because there was no trace of our breakfast. But it doesn't matter, we found another bakery, had some different pastry and returned to our accommodation for a short time.
After only a few minutes, we had to leave it again because we had agreed with to go to the museum together. Yes, in addition to the unfulfilled desire to eat burek for breakfast, the rain also started. No problem, at least we tried the Hive umbrella... which we ended up forgetting in the Kingdom... 😂 Seems like every time we go to this city, Krakow, we lose at least one umbrella. It has already become a tradition.

When we met up with Alessandra, we headed towards the museum. This walk was really nice and went by quickly, even though I was a little cold. Luckily, I had two layers of trousers - I put the jeans over another trousers. It was a good choice that early, cold morning.
The exhibitions we visited in the museum were excellent, but I will write about them another time. Happy with the art we just saw, we went in search of lunch. Akipponn (or it was Mynewlife actually) recommended a restaurant, so we headed there.
And indeed, it was excellent. It had two floors. One was in the basement, like in a tunnel made of stones and bricks. We really liked the rustic design of the interior, as well as all the small details on the walls.
The food was also commendable. I ordered the cream soup of forest mushrooms, and of course, this national dish that you must try if you are visiting this country. Pierogi. As a little gift from the restaurant, each of us got a slice of this super tasty bread with pate. Just later, I saw how big the loaves were!
The whole experience at this restaurant was magical but then, with full bellies, we climbed into the real world.
Horses with carriages were taking the tourists on a ride, but we continued our journey on foot. This is Wednesday Walk, what else would we do but walk? 😉
