A short walk around the bridge wouldn't be a bad idea, especially now that there is a whole lot to feed our eyes upon. I remember when I had a blog about the bridge when its construction started; it was a hopeless project from the way we saw it. Social amenities like this aren't a common thing here; it takes a lot of effort and pressure to start a community project or even see it to completion. This thus delights my soul.
The government can sign a contract for construction works and developmental projects like this that it will not be carried out. It almost feels like corruption is engraving in the hearts of workers at the different positions of project work like this. The contractor might choose to embezzle the money, or the workers themselves may decide to buy inferior materials to make something that will not be valuable for long not minding the risks.
An image of our emirs palace Here in Ilorin. The palace is located near the market area in town and has been a sight of attraction and home to traditional rulers and visitors to Ilorin.
After wishing that this would not become an inferior or abandoned project, we are glad that finally this current location is a beautiful place to behold. This particular project was not only executed; it bears some pointers of a quality project.
Building the bridge makes it a useful tool to reduce the gridlock experienced by motorist around here but adding these paintings and art works makes it exceptional, very special and dear to us as we get exposed to some of our culture and heritage that we know nothing about or may have forgotten.
I can still remember this places around town, our dear So I hill and the Owu water below falls which I have only heard of and yet to visit.
Some of the art work has a brief description underneath which is a good pointer and guide to lead me to the source of information regarding the traditions I do not remember.
Next I have taking shots of these traditional dancers I haven't heard of from history
Moving on we have more art piece with their descriptions
A traditional idol
I was privileged to take a 10mins walk around the bridge to see this works, although I have no idea of the length of the bridge.
I actually appreciate the quietness around the place for now since it is not yet launched and only few motorist pass here. Sooner than later when it is launched we will have more activity here and the place may become more clumsy and dirty compare to what we see here today. I truly desire that we can keep this spot clean and useful as possible.
The floors and everywhere littered yet and everywhere looks neat and beautiful.
Thank you for coming along with me. It is actually a good time to dig out some more information about the pictures we have seen today
