On January 15th, I published a post about the cyclocomputer I installed on my bike. Now we are starting April and the odometer shows 486.6 kilometres.
I know this may not be a big deal to some more dedicated cyclists; however, it means a lot to me. I have been keeping active, doing sport, clearing my mind, helping me in many ways to cope with the challenges in my life. I have a lot of intrusive thoughts and cycling has been a good way to clear them when they appear with their stridencies to sabotage my desires and aspirations.
I am not taking into account here the kilometres I have cycled since the first of January, but I am sure I have exceeded 500 kilometres. Does this mean that at this rate I could manage to cover a distance of perhaps more than 1000 kilometres by the end of this year... 1500 will be possible? Maybe yes. I would like it to be even more, because doing it, with the right physical preparation, eating the right food to overcome any fatigue, and focused, positive thinking and self-confidence, will translate into a lot more self-care and self-love, something that will come back multiplied to everyone who needs that medicine and is somehow close to me.
And that's it. We are done.
And you're probably wondering... eh, so what? For this you made me come all the way here? š
And I answer you: well, this is just a joke but if it wasn't, I also included a snap of things I like to eat. And look, these are the ice cream containers that I recycle to keep the snacks I take on my bike rides. š
...
OK, you are actually right. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary. People exercise, people walk, people take time alone, some people know what meditation is, and some people don't, but at least they already have the word in their mind... This is already a first step. We have to take the first step, even if it costs.
But let me tell you one more thing: I think it has been important for me to focus on my body while moving, wherever I go, and on my safety. Present moment stuff. Remember that I move in a city where the streets are not designed for cyclists, nor are they well paved, and drivers are not at all friendly to us.
So, when I get on my bike I just have those movements in mind that will get me from point A to point B. And I've already told you, but I'll say it again, I focus on feeling my body, the wind on my face, the happiness of being able to do what I love to do.
Here are some video scenes from a beautiful bike ride that I would like to repeat again. This occurred on 16 February.

For filming I used the Akaso Brave 4 action camera, but there were some videos that I filmed with my mobile phone. You will notice the difference between one and the other.
When I had uploaded the video more than 70% of the time, I realised that the background music has an ugly sound at the end that I didn't clean up. And I don't like it... you can check it in the link I left you of the music downloaded from Pixabay. Bah, I know you won't even listen to it. My connection is so bad that today I decided not to be a perfectionist. Anyway, when I am, it's not perfect either, so.... š¤·āāļø
