It's been 4 years since I haven't set foot here in Cebu City and now, I was here embracing the stunning view of the Queen City of the South during nighttime.
I got a murky mind and a heavy heart these past few days and the best thing that I used to do is to take a stroll. In doing this wonderful hobby, there is a quick diversion of my brain from the crazy problems that gradually fooled me.
Since we are staying in the city for this moment, we have agreed to go out to have our dinner at Ayala Central Bloc. Most of my family members rode the taxi however, I opted to walk. Being a wanderer helps me alleviate the pain. Every step I take leads me to the feeling of enjoyment and I'm clinging on this as it is beneficial to my emotional and mental state.
I can say that walking is therapeutic. It helps me in calming down my emotions. The evening walk is more incredible than in the daytime as the surrounding is in silence and being in this state makes my mind more relaxed and calm.
The stillness of the night although I'm in the city is calming as it was almost eight in the evening. The establishments are closed and the shoppers are about to go home while my family is still about to eat dinner on the fourth floor of the Ayala Central Bloc where the food court is located. I'm excited about this walk.
It was a 15-minute walk. I was lil bit hungry after all. Upon our arrival at the food court, the Leylam fast-food chain is seen at the entrance. This is used to be my fave however we will be dining in for dinner, and we looked for another menu that will suffice the hunger of the family.
We set a long table for all of us. Family sitting together during a family meal helps in dealing with stress as we can talk with ease and can share our sentiments while eating.
We had chosen Sugbahanan. There are grilled foods, beef stew, seafood, and other recipes from pork. We ordered barbecue, beef stew, Cebu's chorizo, and seafood.
We enjoyed this family dinner as we were able to have a good conversation, exchanging jokes, and the kids were having fun listening to us. There is sharing of foods that gives a positive impact on the children. It was a great family dinner. The kids were able to value the importance of being together as family.
As we went back to the Waterfront Hotel, we took another 15-minute walk. We walked together this time as they wanted to experience strolling in the city at nighttime too. The lights are magical to look at and brought amusement to the children. On our way, we spotted this lane for bikers. Their bicycles were parked along the road and maybe these will be taken by the owners later on. With this walk, we have navigated city life at night and definitely I have a quick escape from the sadness that I felt inside.
It was such a wonderful walk in the city. The calmness of the night soothes my inner peace and walking in the midst of it gives me a positive outlook to my life. Being a wanderer truly made a difference to myself and to my children as well.
