I was visiting my mother, who lives in the city center, and since I'd read that one of the city's squares had finally been renovated after years of work, I decided to go there to see what the new square looked like. I'm sorry I don't have any photos of the old one to show you for comparison. Piazza San Lorenzo is one of the city's main squares. It used to be a very small square with a small pine park where you could often find elderly people sitting and chatting on the benches, surrounded by a parking lot. In the past, this square housed several medical offices connected to the old hospital located right behind the square. The new square is much larger than the old one, but in my opinion, it's less beautiful because there are no green spaces. Now it's a long, wide concrete square with benches, some white in a marble-like material and others brown. It has a very modern look, which contrasts with the ancient buildings surrounding the square, such as the old houses and the Oratory of San Lorenzo complex, which I'll tell you about now.

Siento no tener fotos de la antigua para mostrarles y comparar. La Piazza San Lorenzo es una de las plazas principales de la ciudad. Solía ser una plaza muy pequeña con un pequeño parque de pinos donde a menudo se podía encontrar gente mayor sentada y charlando en los bancos, rodeada de un aparcamiento. En el pasado, esta plaza albergaba varios consultorios médicos conectados al antiguo hospital situado justo detrás. La nueva plaza es mucho más grande que la antigua, pero en mi opinión, es menos bonita porque no hay zonas verdes. Ahora es una plaza larga y ancha de hormigón con bancos, algunos blancos de un material similar al mármol y otros marrones. Tiene un aspecto muy moderno, que contrasta con los edificios antiguos que rodean la plaza, como las casas antiguas y el complejo del Oratorio de San Lorenzo, del que os hablaré ahora.

It's an Augustinian church, built around 1200 by Bishop Vergiolesi of Pistoia. From the photos, you can see the solid sculpture and a small fresco of the Crucifixion. Continuing around the square, we also find a charming little corner with white benches where we can rest. El complejo del Oratorio de San Lorenzo es muy grande y, además de una iglesia, también incluye un oratorio y un pequeño santuario. Lamentablemente, debido a las renovaciones internas, aún no está abierto al público, lo cual me parece una pena, ya que lo recuerdo como una iglesia preciosa. Es una iglesia agustina, construida alrededor del año 1200 por el obispo Vergiolesi de Pistoia. En las fotos, se puede apreciar la escultura maciza y un pequeño fresco de la Crucifixión. Siguiendo por la plaza, encontramos un encantador rincón con bancos blancos donde podemos descansar.
