Today I had to go to the dentist again, which has become a regular appointment every two weeks, but I headed down to the city center first and took the opportunity to take a walk. I had planned to visit the church of Sant'Andrea, which houses one of the most beautiful pulpits in Tuscany, created by the artist Giovanni Pisano, but to my disappointment, I found the church closed. However, I took photos of the exterior. It's a very pretty and simple church, with a lovely garden surrounding it featuring a large tree. Like all the churches in the area, the exterior areas are made of two-tone marble. On the façade are fascinating sculptures representing the Magi. This church overlooked the old Via Francigena and was a popular parish church for pilgrims and wayfarers. It's a shame I can't show you the interior!

I then continued through some of the narrow streets that I always love; the alleys of Pistoia are truly beautiful. I captured glimpses of some in particular, with the reddish-orange houses all crowded together. Finally, I went to Piazza dello Spirito Santo, which I'd already told you about but which I had the opportunity to observe more calmly today. I was able to pause at the statue in the middle of the square dedicated to Cardinal Forteguerri, a very important cardinal for the city of Pistoia, whose name today also bears a high school and one of the city's oldest libraries. Then I started to observe the surrounding buildings more closely, trying to capture as many details as possible. This city truly never ceases to amaze me. En fin, después de fotografiar la iglesia parroquial, continué mi paseo y, mientras caminaba, me topé con uno de los elementos típicos de algunas ciudades toscanas: el nicho del vino. Se trata de nichos con forma de ventana cubiertos con puertas de madera donde, antiguamente, se depositaba el vino y se lo pasaba a los viajeros, una tradición fascinante. Continué por algunas de las calles estrechas que siempre me encantan; los callejones de Pistoia son realmente hermosos. Capté algunos destellos de algunos en particular, con las casas de color rojizo y naranja apiñadas. Finalmente, fui a la Piazza dello Spirito Santo, de la que ya les hablé, pero que hoy tuve la oportunidad de observar con más calma. Pude detenerme en la estatua en el centro de la plaza dedicada al Cardenal Forteguerri, un cardenal muy importante para la ciudad de Pistoia, cuyo nombre hoy también lleva un instituto y una de las bibliotecas más antiguas de la ciudad. Luego comencé a observar los edificios circundantes con más atención, intentando capturar todos los detalles posibles. Esta ciudad nunca deja de sorprenderme.
