After an illness, the sun always shines brighter, the air smells better, life is more joyful... Did you notice it too?
Today, when choosing my topic for #WednesdayWalk, I looked at my photos and noticed: I did not write about my walk on January 19, 2023. On this day in Ukraine there is a feast of Epiphany, or we say Jordan... So, there is a tradition in Ukraine: people immerse themselves in water, because on this day water in rivers and lakes is considered holy and healing.
I like to remember these traditions. Once upon a time in Ukraine, when my parents were alive, I was always with them these days. But now these holidays are like days of remembrance...
The day before, I got sick and for several days I sat at home, drank tea and did not go out. And here is my first Jordan Day walk. The sky over the Aegean Sea in Cesme, Turkey was fantastic! It was windy and the sea was lapping nicely, creating a beautiful picture.
The ships on the background of the sunset and the windmills on the mountain looked fascinating! People were sitting on the embankment. Some are fishing :)
I wanted to dive into the Aegean Sea in honor of my healing today, on Jordan Day. Me and , who is my best friend on my walks, went to my cozy bay, which is a 10-minute walk from the marina.
It was a warm day, about 16 degrees. This is unusual for me. Winter in Turkey is similar to the beginning of autumn in Ukraine. But my children did not support my initiative to swim.
I am such a person: if I decide to do something, I will do it :)
But when I approached the sea, I saw: the sea is stormy! Therefore, I only went from the shore and dived into the waves, but did not swim to the depths! The Jordan bathing ritual was completed :)
Then Darynka and I stood on the seashore for a long time, enjoying the pictures of the sunset!
On the way back, we met a purple flower of amazing beauty, swaying in the wind. I don't know the name of this flower, but this flower is also found in the meadows of Ukraine.
The sky kept giving us new exciting pictures of the sunset. The white track of the plane in the sky, so beautiful in the crimson sunset!
I felt great joy! I'm healthy, I'm walking again, enjoying life! This is a special feeling that we feel more acutely after the hardships we have experienced. There is a saying for a reason: we value more what we lose! Thank God, I recovered quickly. I watched the sun setting over the Cesme Peninsula with pleasure.
Later we went to a local club to play the Turkish game "101 OKAY". And ate one cake for three :)
We walked home through the night Çeşme, enjoying the beautiful old buildings in the light of the lanterns and the orange trees that decorate the street.

The last vivid impression of my walk was this magnificent palm tree! New Year 2023, which I met for the first time under palm trees :)
