I want to share with you my emotions, which are alive only for the first few days! Therefore, I decided to immediately write a little about the new place where I am coming. For this, I use the caption #TheLongestTrip // I'm at this moment... in the title of the post. It means here I am now, walking the streets of this city today :)
So, today I invite you to take a walk through the narrow, tunnel-like streets of Naples.
At first glance, I called it the city of pigeons, so many were there in the small square where we left the station.
I am always happy to share my walks in the wonderful initiative #wednesdaywalk challenge, initiated by :)
We are now in Italy in the ancient town of Bassiano, I wrote about it here. We settled here for two weeks and I enjoy the peace and quiet of this medieval town, where every stone breathes history!
But of course we also want to see more places in Italy. As much as our finances and physical strength allow us :)
We lived for several days in Rome. And yesterday we decided to go to Naples to also see the famous city of Positano.
And here is my first walk from the train station to our Airbnb apartment that we rented for a night.
Poverty and luxury coexist in this ancient city. Naples is considered the poorest city, where there are constant garbage wars between municipal services and residents. We walked through poor areas where people live very close to each other. No trees grow on the narrow streets and people create coziness with flower pots in pots. Laundry is drying on the lines between the houses. All this chaos makes a unique face of Naples.
I love following my girls, taking pictures of them walking with their backpacks, looking at balconies and people, and becoming a part of the city...
I notice a metal gate to the yard. I like to look into the courtyards - it is like the heart of the city. Everything is so open there. And pink walls that make people's lives more fun!
We slowly move through the streets, noticing various colorful details. For example, graffiti - a girl's blue nigant face. Or a bright red one is suddenly visible among gray buildings. Some woman concentrates on cleaning the facade, not noticing the architecture and tourists :)
These streets, houses, stairs, flower pots and the view of the sea from the top of the city inspired my daughter so much - and she created a video of our walk to her favorite music!
We saw a statue with lions. It reminded me again of my hometown Lviv. Lions are what every city has. And this is my connection with my native home!
And at the end of our walk, we went to the Naples embankment. We saw the Tyrrhenian Sea of Italy for the first time. It was a beautiful sunset. Another beautiful day of our life and our journey has passed. I like to thank God at sunset...
If I'm going back to a step-by-step story of all the places I've been, then I just use #TheLongestTrip. I decided to divide it so that you can clearly understand where I am in my journey now, and when I write about past events!
Thank you for your support!
