You might as well call it the dodgy one. I just put it in a diplomatic way on the title just to pepper things with some discreet humour.
At the West suburb of Athens named Egaleo I wasn't around to do any favour to my eyes but to my teeth as I was looking for a dentist suggested by a friend of mine, also doctor. The answer why my eyes would never thank me for this is here:
Begs the question why any space like this could be treated like that but to be fair to any "Egaleo" it's not just a local trend. Though we're ding better lately here in Greece there's still a lot of twisted mentality according to which we keep our houses and cars clean and the public places far from clean (shall I become a diplomat? Let me know in the comments🙂).
I mean, yes, someone just had lunch and casually light hearted left behind this mess:
So what happens when people in this neighbourhood try to beautify things? Well, brace yourself cause I've got something you probably neither have seen before nor expect to see. Have a look:
What's your first though about the use of that building? Anything but residential right? Well, believe it or not, it is!
An absolute WTF. Not only this guy felt obliged to build the whole thing in his own taste of respecting the ancient Hellenic heritage (I can hear our ancestors rolling in their graves) but also made things more than clear on what this is all about with writings on the walls of the ground floor:
With this WTF still intense and fresh in my head just a couple of steps away I find this one:
Now you can easily guess it's either the same guy or his whole family has moved here leaving their obvious footprint in the area including this kinky bit:
And some lions of course:
Here is the whole thing from one more angle:
At this point I need the feel to counterweight this monstrosity a bit so here's some much more humble and sane attempts to beautify this place:
Though, as usual, nature tends to apply a pretty touch to the city's concrete jungle:
Even on metal parts:
Yep, that's a manhole cover in case you didn't identify it at first glance:
On the other hand I have no idea what short of touch made the rear end of this van with this funny "ZZZ" plate end up looking like this:
That's it with today's walk, see you on the next one :)
