The bad thing about checking out old photos is that you always have that "itchy feet" effect and you would like to go again to the same place and explore more... Or go to some new place... Or just go... Well, that's happening to me at this point while I'm checking my photos from the #HiveFest7 trip to the Netherlands...
In this post, I will share with you my walk around Eindhoven ('s hometown! 😃), another beautiful Dutch city where I spent the first, and the last day of my Dutch Adventure... My flight to the Netherlands was to that city as my flight back, too... But, I made a small change in my itinerary, leaving one day for exploring Eindhoven and not just traveling to the airport...
As I came to the city the previous day, I have booked a hotel in the city center to be able to explore it a bit more... There were cheaper solutions closer to the airport, but I wanted to be "in the city"! 😃
This was my hotel's hallway and the room was similarly "designed"... It is unique compared to other hotels where I stayed before... Despite the look (screaming to wild partying... 😃), it was quiet and pleasant... As a matter of fact, if I would go again to Eindhoven, I would probably book the same hotel...
The entrance was from a small alley, and as you can see, the name of the hotel is The Match... The rules of the hotel were that I have to leave the room by 11 AM, if I remember well, which I did... Unfortunately, when I have already checked out, I noticed that there was an option of "late check-out" which would be perfect for me as I had a flight late in the evening...
Anyways, I picked up my things and left the hotel... The only problem with early checkout was that I had to wear my bag all over the place with me... It wasn't a too big bag, just a laptop and a few clothes for the trip, but after a while, it was a bit problem to wear it...
The first stop was this bakery... I was up early and my stomach wanted some food... :)
As I had no idea about the city, I was just walking around the streets... If you are from Eindhoven, you will probably recognize the streets and could follow my wandering on the map... lol...
After checking out Google Maps, I can tell you that this is a St. Catherine's Church, which is built in 1867...
It looks like it was some heavy partying in this bar the previous day... The beer truck is refueling the pub and preparing it for the next crazy night... It was still relatively early in the morning and there were not too many people outside...
As the bars didn't work, I sat down on the bench at this small square...
This is definitely an interesting building which is actually a restaurant... Unfortunately, it was closed as most of the others and I couldn't get in to check out how it looks... I checked it later on the Internet and it does look great inside... You can "google-it" yourself, it's called Brasserie 't Zusje...
This building reminded me of Den Haag as I saw many houses build in this architectural style... Small balcony, narrow fenced front yard, with bicycles outside... 😃
As you can see from the photos, it was raining during the night and it was cloudy in the morning...
...but as time passed by, the sun came out! Yaaay!
Another interesting building or better say complex of building, from which this one is a cultural center named Designhuis if I'm not wrong... In the photo above this one, you can see another museum, Van Abbemuseum, which should be a contemporary and experimental art "niched"... You can guess that by the text at the top of the building... lol... "Turn Panic Into Magic" 😃
As you already know, I like "green spaces" a lot and this narrow street was probably the highlight of my walk by Eindhoven... It is maybe 100 meters long (or less), but it's decorated "with taste"... The first photo from this post (thumbnail) was part of this street...
C'mon... Where you can find old traffic lights with scissors, used as a pole for locking your scooter... 😂
...biking with the style... I can imagine it... Cat in the front basket, dog in the back... or vice versa... 😂
..of course, I had to take photos of beautiful flowers in the street!
...passing by a small mall called Heuvel toward my final destination for that day...
...another big square with dozens of bars and restaurants... people are slowly getting out of their homes...
And I will leave it here... My last photo from the Eindhoven "city center" as I caught a bus from the station to the airport where I spent the rest of my day... As there was a lack of working stuff, I decided to go early, just in case... And, I made a mistake as I spent almost 5-6 hours at the airport... 😃 I had a few photos from there, but this one is already too long, so I will keep it for another post...
PS. I would like to mention and
, as they said that they don't want to miss the post about Eindhoven! I hope you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your valuable time,
