Welcome to this week's #WednesdayWalk post! It's been a while since my last post and tbh, and I have no idea why I have skipped so many weeks... It's not that I didn't do my daily walks, it's not that it was bad weather, and it's not that I didn't have awesome stuff to photograph... As a matter of fact, the weather was perfect, the colors of nature are still okay (not for long as the sun burns everything here during the summer), and I had time for walks... I blame bear markets and cryptocurrencies fall for everything... 😂
Anyways, here I am and you have in front of you a nice 1-2 hour walk that I had "not by my fault"... I was on a "taxi duty", driving a member of the family to the town near my place, and I had to wait there for that time to come back... So, I have parked the car near this small town park and take a walk around it...
As you can see from the map under, it's not a that big park, but it has everything that one park should have... And I have tried to archive those things with my mobile phone... Firstly, it has a map where you can see where to go...
Secondly, it has a small fountain that is fenced by the bush, so it's not like those easily accessible where children are cooling down during the hot days... :) I suppose that because of this fountain, the park has its name, Font de la Favara!
<-------------------------------->
Thirdly, the old tree! The most popular trees that can survive hot and dry summers here are the olive tree and the carob tree... I like both of them as they represent "timestamps" in history, and probably in the future... The olive tree has a lot of knots and the carob tree has them also, but the latest looks even more persistent... When you think that it's dead, you notice one green branch growing from an impossible part of the trunk! I don't know how old is this one in the photo, but I'm sure that it saw a lot of things in its lifetime...
When you notice these old water pools, that's usually a sign that there was in the past, a mill somewhere near... I saw on another map that it was an old mill here, but I didn't search for its rest this time... Maybe in the next walk...
...a mini Stonehedge in the middle of the park... 😀
I'm not sure if you will spot it, but in this photo, you can see a small waterfall that has water at the moment! Luckily, we had a rainy winter this year and we will have enough of water for this summer... Not just for people, but also for plants...
<-------------------------------->
Forth thing that every park should have is, of course, a playground for children! As I was in there around noon and the sun was killing it, nobody was there... I suppose that people come later in the evening and early in the morning...
<-------------------------------->
And here we come to the fifth thing that every park should have - a recreation area! Where you can come, train a little bit, and be aware of how out of shape are you (like I did)... 😂🤣
I suppose that it was an organized bicycle route in the past, as this sign doesn't look too old...
<-------------------------------->
Finally, the sixth thing that every park should have are plants, and especially flowers! The photos aren't that good as the sun was on top, and they looked much better in real life! But, you get the point... :)
<-------------------------------->
I have enter the park from one side, and exited from another side which was a good move as I saw that there were more things to see!
Right at the exit, there was the sign that there is a local trail that leads into the woods! What a great continuation of a walk!

This is how it looks like when you fail to make a butterfly photo 20 times... You start with your photo session from distance...
...and when you have one, then you try to make a closer one...
...and the closer one...
And if you are lucky, you can get something like this as a final result before the butterfly flies away... 😃
This last photo is taken on my way back to the car... Not, it's not possible to see this green grass at this time of the year... This is artificial grass and that's why it looks so good... :)
Thank you for your valuable time,
ph
