the host of #Makemesmile 😊
For my Wednesday Walk I took a jaunt around the backyard to see how some perennial plants were growing now the ground as been kissed by the spring sunshine. Later I will plant some tomatoes and peppers.
These little blue flowers are a nice ground cover and faithfully bloom every year.
Sweet perfume filled the air as I walked by the lilac bush.
Rhubarb starting to get big enough to use some to make a pie or jam for toast.
I’ve used some of these chives already in a puréed asparagus soup.
This is oregano. When it grows bigger, it can be used fresh or cut, dried and stored for later.
The Grackle struts across the driveway. He makes me smile with his antics in trying to keep other birds and the squirrel away.
The peaceful robins give the grackle lots of space and do their own thing in combing the lawn for worms and insects.
I didn’t check out flowers in the front lawn but will save them for another time.
The raccoon must have been watching and decided on a daytime trip to see if I left him any cat food in a dish on the back deck.
The masked bandit normally is a nocturnal animal but knows if he doesn’t get to the dish early the skunk will visit and eat the food.
He makes me smile with his cunning ways. I leave a pail of water on the deck as raccoons like to wash their little paws before they eat.
This ends my Wednesday Walk among the plants, birds and raccoon.
