This day started with heavy rain and because it stayed that way for hours, I thought it would last for the whole day. Fortunately it didn't and I'm thankful for that. I was never fond of cold weather—especially rain because everything felt dreary if it was raining. The way the coldness dampens my mood just doesn't sit right especially since I have outdoor plans for that day. And during Wednesdays, I mostly have outdoor plans.
Since this month is technically our vacation, I plan to spend my Wednesdays exploring the grass field near our house. Honestly, that grass field was way lusher before, but then when a village got constructed near it really changed. It's kinda bad, but I know it's inevitable.
Ok, so before I get sentimental, today Wednesday I decided to start my plan for this month. I planned to spend time in the grassland picking small flowers that I could use for my DIY stickers. Also, I plan to spend some me-time there—you know just me, grass, and the silence. I've been yearning for that every week, and during the time I have class, I mostly do that me-time near the seawall.
Since I can't go there for now, I'll just have it in the grass field. Today is the first Wednesday in June, so after filing my application for DL, I proceeded to my walk. It was just a brief one—a barely half an hour walk—when I reached the grass field near our house.
I immediately found a spot on top of a small hill overlooking the open basketball field. It's still vacation time for both the grader and high school so there are a lot of children and teenagers playing there. After sitting, I prepared my notebook where I will press the small flowers that I'll gather. I put it on the grass along with my bag and stuff.
I was about to place my earphones on top of my notebook when I noticed something. It's a small grasshopper! It's so small that it looks like a blur against my phone's camera. It stayed for a while and after it hopped away. I'm in no hurry so I decided to eat first the chips I bought. I also watched anime while doing so!
After unconsciously procrastinating about what I'm supposed to do, I proceed to find small flowers. It wasn't that hard because there were really some of them just hiding among the tall grasses. And along with my flower hunting, I also caught some grasshoppers. Old habits die hard because grasshopper catching has been my fascination since I was a kid, and up until now I can't control myself but catch one when I see some of them jumping.
Back to my flower hunting, I found some cute ones. I'm already familiar with these flowers, but I'm not good at naming what they really are. Perhaps I know some of their local names, but I'm not certain of their common names. Anyway, after gathering them, I immediately have them pressed against the pages of my notebook. I put some pressure while pressing it because I didn't want them to fall if I didn't.
Since the rainy season is starting, the corn is starting to grow again. Unlike its barren appearance last month, it's already filled with growing corn. However, the small flowers that I hoped I would find aren't there anymore. Those tiny hyacinth-looking flowers aren't there anymore, maybe they were uprooted because they kinda look like weeds.
And that's how my Wednesday walk ended and I hope my next Wednesday experience will be as nice as what happened to me today. What about you? How did you spend your Wednesday? Hopefully, yours was also nice :) Thanks for being with me up until here and see you on my next time!
