An entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by .
On the way back from the other facility I work at, I knew I needed to get my #wednesdaywalk in. The last couple of days have been bitterly cold; it's so cold that when you take your gloves/mittens off to snap a photo here and there, you lose feeling in your fingers. It's not really my thing. I can bear it, mind you, but I don't enjoy it. Well, as nature would have it, today's temperatures were in the mid 30Fs. Basically, it feels like summer right now...so a pleasant walk was in order!
This walk is along a trail that runs on the other side of the Mississippi River and a rail line. The name of the body of water in the background is Lake Onalaska; it's a man-made lake that links up to the water of the mighty Mississippi River just to the west.
No gloves were needed today, and my hands felt great. Hooray for warm weather in January! The conditions were so nice that I was able to get a few more photos in than usual.
The only problem due to today's sudden warm up was a wood staircase that led to the path below. The ice on the steps were a bit problematic, but I do like a little adventure. Good thing I had the old Scarpas on today...crampons would have been nice, too, but the wanna be mountain climber in me made do.
There it was...a nice midmorning break. It truly is fun to stop along the river whenever I can. I've taken it for granted for so long; now, I'm happy to share the experience with others (and earn Hive too, of course).
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my walk! Until next Wednesday, I hope everyone out there is having a wonderful week too!
