For this week's #wednesdaywalk, as hosted by , I took a stroll near the Mississippi River to blow off some steam. Long story short, it was a rough day at work. Thank goodness I could drive to the nearby river to take in the scenes.
There is a paved bike path that was put up over this backwater channel a few years ago. The few views from the bridge can give one an idea of the area.
Fortunately, there is a little trail that leads off the path and to better views of the area.
I found a few items of interest as usual; more allergy problems, too.
The area is still very green and full of life. There was a heron out on the river that I wasn't able to catch with my phone camera. As usual, it's one of those moments where I wish I had the proper camera to take photographs.
Despite the lack of cameras, it still was a good walk to get away for lunch. As much fun as work can be, it's good to get a bit of sunshine and fresh air in while I still can. I know it's only August, but winter really isn't that far off!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by to take a look at the scenes I'm fortunate enough to share. Next time, I might actually remember to bring the Canon. The water birds are still in the area...I better hurry before they start to migrate away in the coming months.
