An entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by .
Or better yet, trying to sneak up on the geese for a photo opportunity. Today was very, very cold; raw, lower 20Fs, wind out of the north. In my infinite wisdom, I thought it would be a good idea to walk down to a new spot along a Mississippi River spillway to photograph the ice without gloves or mittens. As I said, in my infinite wisdom...
Despite the frozen fingers, I did manage to get a few interesting photos of the landscape. Tree roots in frozen water and more fungi...the baren December ground here in Wisconsin still has many interesting perspectives to notice on #wednesdaywalks!
For my last great move, I attempted to capture the geese that were sitting on the ice shelf. As I tried to sneak up on the behind a tree, I grabbed this photo:
Then I attempted to get closer to get even more detailed photo and my alarm on my phone went off. Away the geese flew away and away flew my chance for a better photo. Don't worry, however, as I plan to get a better camera here during the holidays. I'm excited for it, at the very least.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my photos for this week's entry. I do wish everyone out there a wonderful upcoming holiday season if they are celebrating. We've got a bit of travel over the weekend, but I do hope to continue to post some interesting images here and there when I can. Until next Wednesday...
