For this week's #wednesdaywalk adventure, as inspired by , I returned to my favorite; the old man river himself, the Mississippi River.
Having run out time earlier in the day thanks to a nasty bout of food poisoning, I finally found the time on the drive home from work to get a walk in. So, I took the "proverbial" long way home and decided to walk down toward the river along a state trail.
What a beautiful afternoon! Despite being chilly with temperatures in the 40Fs, the sun was setting over the river. With the trees continuing to change colors, the afternoon was a perfect setting for a walk. Hey, it was a massive hike, but it was enough to remind me how important it is to take some time out for myself on days like today. It was also a reminder of how beautiful this area truly is.
The last time I was here, the weather was winter...January winter. What a change the seasons really make.
The best part about today's walk? It would have had to have been the fact that there was no one else on this trail this afternoon. I'm not sure why that would be the case as the afternoon was gorgeous. Maybe it was too close to dinner time, or the chill was a bit too much too soon for other 'sconnies. I guess I don't mind...I was happy to have it all to myself.
What a way to end the day!
Thanks so much for checking out my #wednesdaywalk! I do hope everyone had as wonderful as a walk today as I did!
