An entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by .
This week's Wednesday walk was literally a walk in the clouds. With thunderstorms passing through the area for most of the morning, I decided to take a lunch walk on a nearby bluff to check out a field of prairie wildflowers to photography. Despite the rain and low-hanging rain clouds, the views were refreshing. As was the escape from the recent heat.
Hattie took my wildflower book and hid it somewhere, so I'm at a loss as to what some of these are. I think we took it with us to Viroqua this past weekend; I'm hoping we didn't leave it somewhere.
If we did, I'll just have to buy a new one. As some of you may have read, I'm trying to get better at classifying and identifying wildflowers as the seasons' progress. It's one of those old tucked away hobbies I used to enjoy in school. One of my favorite biology projects was picking wildflowers and then attempting to classify them. I no doubt failed, but hey, I still like the idea of it!
As fantastic as the flowers were, the real beauty of today's was walk was taking photos of the city and marshland below; the fog of the rain and the clouds lingering in the backdrop made the walk pretty cool today. Added bonus: I was the only one on the top of the bluff today too.
So I may (or may not have), snuck down some paths considered off-limits, and took a few more photos of the town below.
I had a feeling today was going to be a bit muddy; I knew it was a good day to hike the Scarpas into work. These boots just keep on kicking...and totally worth it, despite the looks I got from all the new managers at my place of employment. They just don't get it...
That's it for this week's walk! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out! Hoping everyone else had a great Wednesday too, and we'll see you next week.
