An entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by .
Today was all about rain and fog, clouds and greyness. No sun was able to make an appearance today, but that didn't stop a short, quick little walk in a local coulee. I love this little coulee, as there is an old, decrepit red barn that hides along an old country road. It's the perfect spot to take a break as no one would be able to find you.
There were a few fields of bailed hay nearby; I thought the area was abandoned but the hay bails make it look like someone is still around.
Although I didn't see anyone, there was an abandoned (I think) home across the way from the old barn. I didn't want to take a photo so much as I was concerned there would be a ghost standing there in a window. Or worse yet, I would be witnessing an X-Files episode Home type scenario. No thanks!
Part of me wanted to run around the property to take different angle photographs of the structure, but there was a no trespassing sign posted nearby. Hey, I'm all about breaking rules if I can, but not if there is a possible Home situation nearby...
Despite a possible Dunwich Horror experience, I still had to take in the beauty of the old structure. It might be old and in ruin, but it was at some time in the near past an important part of a family's farm. Although they may not be around any longer, there memories are still in there; I just can't see them.
That's it for today's walk. I really hope to visit more abandoned farm lands this spring and summer if I a) can find the time and b) find the time. You know how it goes...life likes to just fly by, all the time!
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my walk. Hoping everyone out there had a wonderful Wednesday too. Until next week...
