There's nothing like the peace of the countryside, the quiet, and the lack of distraction. It helps you to focus your mind. - Jenny Nimmo
Living in the countryside for more than 3 decades, there's a lot to be thankful for. The peace of mind it gives to the people living in the place, the good friends being shown by the neighborhood, the lush greenery of the place which is good to see every day of your life, and the fresh air you breathe is remarkable. This is how my life turns almost every day.
As I was walking along our place one time, it knocks off my mind how the people in this place got to live for almost all their life. Aren't they get bored seeing the same surroundings every day? And I guess I found the answer to my question. And for today's blog, I will be showing you some of the shots I took while walking in our little village. The different sceneries and how people make a living in the village.
Our place is surrounded by a lot of green-colored environments. Going to the top of the village, you will see these cogon grasses and the mountains around.
Looking around, I feel so overwhelmed by how lovely our village must be. This green colored ones are filled with cogon grasses and sugarcane plants which some of the villagers made a living. Villagers made sacrifices during sunny and rainy days just to get a penny to survive and have something to buy for their daily needs.
Many are relying upon these works because they could not find a better one to earn a living.
Aside from becoming laborers in sugarcane plantations, most of the people living in the village are farmers. Some are having their land to till but others don't have it. And to lessen the expenses of plowing the land, some of the villagers have their carabaos which is a great help to them in growing their plants.
People don't have the modernized way of tilling the lands and owning tractors but they do have their carabaos helping them in the farms. These villagers as well took care of different animals for a living. Some with their young carabaos and cows, can sell it at high prices. Others are having their goats with them so that if they need money, they will directly sell these to have something to eat for their family.
When we don't have someone to play with, nothing to worry about. A lot of animals are pasture on the grasses where kids can just play with their young animals.
And parents will not worry about where their child could play. These vast grounds in our place could be used as playgrounds for kids. During their pastime or weekends, kids can go around and have hide and seek with friends.
Walking along the neighborhood, I got to see different flowering plants. It's nice to see that the flowers are in full bloom. Its light yellow and peach color radiates beautifully and attracts the passerby.
As I continue walking, I saw an avocado tree where its also in full bloom. There are so many avocado fruits above it.
As I was sitting on the grass, I realized, people are so blessed in this place. Though our place is still developing, yet, people are contented with the life they are living. Simple life with abundant blessings from nature is truly a delight.
Contentment with what we have is the key to a lifetime of happiness. And strolling in our little village is very much fulfilling, Got to see how the people in the community made a living, got to freshen up with the lush greens outside, and recharge for another wonderful day.
