As I walked along the sidewalk of a busy street where 100% of homes are typical California homes with no fences, I came across this one with monster high hedges covering the frontage of the yard.
There were several palm trees towering above the hedges, which was really what caught my eye. It is not common to see many palm trees in this part of town on someone's yard.
So I took out my iPhone to take photos to share with you on this week's #wednesdaywalk.
Behind the gate is a beautiful house! And it seemed to glisten under the sun!
The iron gate had a pretty, life-size rose sculpture in the middle. The owners must like roses as I can see tree roses in some parts of the yard.
So as soon as I got home, I did a quick research and this was what I found.
This picturesque Colonial Revival home was built by the Keehn Bros in 1905, for the son of County pioneers and a prominent figure in the business world who served as president of several companies including the largest milling company and creamery in this County.
The property is known here as Roselawn, and the house received the city's Heritage Home award in 1991.
