Here is a nice flower garden outting for this #wednesdaywalk by
We started off in the rose garden. The bees were loving it and each rose had their own sort of fragrance.
A monarch was busy on a random wildflower in amongst the roses. It didn't seem to care too much about the roses, maybe the bees eere hogging them too much.
A terrible Japanese beetle was getting in on the action. I usually catch these guys and throw them to bluegills in the lake, those are the only things that seem to eat them.
A massive bumble bee danced around in this large white rose. This guy didn't have a stripe on him. I'll have to up my bumble bee identification game.
The rest of the gardens were filled with all sorts of seasonal flowers.
Can you spot the bee in this picture?
Here is the desert area of the gardens. To make a desert in Illinois they brought some volcanic rocks and put a bit of dirt in the crevices for succulents to grow. Seems to work well, until winter that is... they will need to be brought into a greenhouse to survive.
This is a great place to take the baby on walks as there are even pathways and shade canopies.
Now its time to drop off the Japanese beetle in the pond for the bluegills.
The lotus flowers were blooming everywhere in perfect form. Sadly kermit the frog wasn't sitting on a lily pad to finish the composition.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
